just what I found, lol no guarantees on actual number...I would have to study all the charts to give answers to every one.
I'll see what my Big16 can do. I just picked up an HKS 3" CB today, Last weekend installed a decent e-bay tmic and have the prodrive boost solenoid in the mail. SS will re-tune once the solenoid arrives and see if I can hit 300whp with ej20+full3"exhst, big16, 565inj/walbro, SS tune? I am currently at 280 whp with big16 I think I am around 16lb's boost but don't quote me on that
300whp is very hard to hit on a 2.0 without meth injection or a 20G. The BCS will not add any power but will just control boost faster than stock. I'd say with the new TMIC you'll probably get up and over 290whp but dont feel shorted if you dont get 300whp. And something is up with those IHI VF22/23/24 numbers. The VF22 and VF23 are identical except that the VF23 is ball bearing and will spool slightly faster. The VF24 is a standard bearing VF29 which is a smaller turbo than a VF30. And if those PE1820 numbers are correct then its a worthwhile upgrade over a VF22, considering all it is is just a worked over VF22 with a bigger compressor and no more lag from what I recall. Real old school turbo, back in the day it was considered 'too big' and 'too laggy' for a 2.0, nowadays you've got guys throwing GT30Rs and GT35Rs on 2.0s but thats the evolution of the WRX scene over the last 5 yrs.
Yeah ia will be just fine with 290:naughty: I thought I might come close to 300 becuase of the better flowing exhaust. Even King mentioned I would benefit greatly from a better flow. Sorry about the thread jack. I will shut up now Oh and great thread by the way I was always curious about the flow rate of the big 16g.
If I recall they seem about right though...think the 18g was around 590 or something like that. Again this is probably in standard form without porting or any of that fun stuff.
Well, i dont know about the 16g, i was just putting up a reason for the flow to go down with higher psi.
