hey guys, i posted on here a couple weeks ago about where to get my car tested. The catless thing isnt a problem but im throwing a O2 code, slow responding it think he said. Im running the TurboXS Utec and am looking for some help. I dont own a PC anymore, I crossed over to the darkside and bought a Mac so i can run the software anymore. I was hoping that someone with a pc and software could help me disable the code thats being thrown. Any help would be awesome. Ill throw you some cash if you can help. Thanks guys.
yea i knnow but i dont want anything to do with windows, ive herd horror stories of running windows on macs. Can i take it to like pep boys and have them clear it with a obdII scanner?
You can have it cleared at most auto parts stores. I don't think you will be able to go right back to the emissions place though. You will need to log some miles first.
pretty sure macs have the necessary software to connect to a UTEC. should just be terminal emulation. usb -> serial converter might do the trick for you also, mac fanboys are hilarious. and dumb.
Sorry, I assumed the UTEC software was windows based. If all you need is a terminal to telnet, ftp, or ssh like Nicad said above you just need an adapter. Try UNIX fanboy, but glad I can bring a smile to your face Nicad. :bigthumb: http://tv.truenuff.com/mac/bootcamp.php
If you O2 sensor is throwing a SLOW RESPONSE code, its a REAL PROBLEM and you need to replace the sensor ASAP. Plus a UTEC cannot delete the code from the ECU. You have to physically reflash the ECU.
Okay, if i just need to get around inspection for the day will a scan tool clear the code so i can pass their scan?>
Negative. None of the monitors will show as 'ready/pass' and by the time the O2 sensor monitors run you will likely already have the slow response code again...those usually pop up in a few minutes of driving.
As long as you have the P0420 turned off in the ECU (if you are catless/high flow catted) then yes. Foulers dont always work either.
