Well, my RST is almost complete, and it appears that I need a single-din radio. If I can find one at a reasonable price (under $300) I would LOVE to have in-dash nav. It needs to be a flip-out single din type, but other than that I don't know anything about ICE. All suggestions are much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Siegel

I've got my old alpine sitting here for the cheap. it works perfect, still in great condition. The faceplate looks better on it than my new one!

Kenwood has a cool radio that has a built-in performance g-meter the kdc-x792 I think is the part #. Very nice. I can get you a great deal through my shop. I can also install if you need it. We carry alpine, kenwood and eclipse radios.

Scott check this out. I had the old Eonon Radio with the TV and it was flawless and I never had any problem with it. It sounded better than my buddies Alpine unit. The GUI was old technology but I didn't care and this was 2 years ago. Since they have gotten much much better. It took a whopping 3 days for my order to get to me from China.

This comes with a flip touch screen navi, MP3 player capability, radio, DVD player + plus a hand held portible Navi.

the siegel can make his own radio from a rubber band, cardboard box and a straw...he just chooses to use our feeble, mortal technology

CR, does the little GPS only have to be plugged into the headunit?

All, I'm thinking about just getting another Garmin (love my C330) and getting just a single din flipout without GPS for the car. Any thoughts or suggestions on that? I'd like it to be a name-brand so that hopefully it's reliable, but I also want it cheap ;)

Scott I NEVER had any issues with my old Eonon radio. It worked too good sometimes.

Also Scott you can talk to the sales reps on Eonon's site live via that chat option. Why don't you ask them as I have no experience with the Navi radio from them.....I just had the DVD screen and radio/player from them 3 yrs ago.

Jensen is the OBX of car stereo:)

  27. Im still skeptical with Jensen. I havent heard anything bad, but yet I havent heard anything good either. Im sure its worth a shot to try.....

Any brand you can find in a flea market is probably not great quality. I compare them to OBX because they do the same thing as OBX does. They sell ebay quality products but charge more for them because of their marketing. Not saying ebay products are all bad.

IMO, you need to stick to the name brand audio components...its the equivalent of puting a Chinese made replica turbo on your car :)

I do agree with Alex even though the Eonon stuff is nice. I simply LOVE my Pioneer AVIC D3.

Cant help it if craptastic American and European companies outsource their even crappier operations to areas with no operating standards.

dude i have a jensen touch screen, and its awesome. it has 2 aux hookups, for like ps2 or whatever, your standard ipod hookup and i can watch dvd while driving, not recommended. it also has hook ups for sat. radio and back up camera. its only like 400 bucks too.

I think I'll be getting Scoobyblks, I need a single din that flips up, I can't use one that's double-din all the way back. My RST is keeping the full crash bar which eats a little of the upper back of the double din opening. I can use a single din that opens up to double-din on the front edge, but not one that's double-din all the way back.

If nobody has solid reasons not to get get that one, I think I'll go ahead and pick it up ;)

I doubt Mike is bending you over on the price so if it has what you are looking for give it try. Worst case scenario you put something else in and sell that one on ebay.
