so over this past weekend my car is now boosting only 15 psi instead of 22. and it will not idle correctly. it will go from 1000 rpm's to 0 and sometimes stall. it will even die if i put the clutch in to turn off a road. i have to give it gas when ever the clutch is pushed in. any thoughts or help would be awesome.
    thanks,
    jeff:wtc:

do you have an aftermarket bov... i know my car does the same thing because of the bov venting to the atmosphere and not recirculating... may be completely wrong but just a thought

They are $2.50 each at siliconeintakes.com

You have a boost or vac leak.

The left side should be easy and I thing you need to take out the washer spray bottle to get to the right side.

The spark plugs aren't that hard. There's a kit at pep boys with a curved socket extension that makes it easier to put it in the hole.

Just remove the intake from the left side, and waser fluid from the right (possibly your intercooler piping if you have a front mount) other than that make sure you get the plugs in correctly so your car doesn't burn down.

+1 for boost/vacuum leak. All the symptoms you are describing point to that. The bad idle (also caused by crappy BOV's that leak), the loss of boost, everything. Replace those clamps. I hear SSAC on ebay has them relatively cheap and they are pretty nice pieces.

hey, look on the bright side, at least you have a reason to heel and toe every turn!!:rofl:

besides the intercooler piping, where else can a leak occure?

Turbo inlet, BOV, exhaust, vacuum system, pcv

Do a boost leak test and you will find it.

this is probably a stupid question but how do you do a boost leak test?

You pressurized the intake. Best bet is to go to Topspeed and tell SS to do a leak test for you. He has an awesome leak tester like mine (his is what I made mine from).

o.k. so i pressurized the air intake and the only place that i found where it was leaking was coming from the plug that (perrin gives you with the turbo kit) goes into the air intake where a bov would go. the little bit of air coming from that would not cause the problems that im dealing with.

Did you pressurize the post turbo portion of the intake system? Like the entire run from the turbo to the intake manifold? If so and no leaks....possibly your BOV then. Could need adjusting? Opening too easily, not holding pressure?

i hope everything worked out for you and u can come out tomorrow. Still sounds like a leak, my car was acting the same way found out....purge valve gave up.

so i found a small leak in the gasket of my hks ssq bov. i put some hi temp silicone on it. the idle seems a little better but.....i did a 4th gear pull and only made 5psi instead of 22. and it took like 2 years to get there.lol i orderd som spark plugs from ts. hopefully they will be here today or friday. im hopen they have alot to do with it as well. there acting like they are weak. not fireing correctly.
we will have to see i guess

Have you done a compression test?

If your car is running that bad I certainly wouldn't go pushing it hard trying to get it to make boost.

You have a massive boost leak that should be easy to spot even without a tester. Check all the piping on the front mount.

i changed the spark plugs and the boost is back to 22psi but know it is stalling worse than ever. time to make a trip to top speed
