STi Cluster

    Hey i found a sweet deal on an 05 sti cluster, how big of a pain is it to install into a bugeye. will it always be throwing a check engine lights and stuff. is it better to just keep my stock cluster over the headache of dealing with the sti cluster. Any help, links, or experience will be awesome.

    I know a few people are running swapped clusters. I think all you have to do is splice a few wires and modify a connector. If I'm not mistaken there is a detailed writeup with pics on nasioc

    I've got an 05 STi cluster...I just have not taken the time to mod the one connector.

    edit: after reading the thread it appears that no one has noticed that the 05+ STi clusters have one different connector vs 2002~2005 WRX. They are NOT plug and play.

    However, all 04 STi clusters will plug right in to any 2002~2005 WRX from what I've seen.

    WJM is correct...search for an '04 and save yourself the headache...that's what I did.

    The 05 cluster I have was FREE...so I'll make it work somehow. :lol:

    nicad had no problem making that exact 05 STi cluster work in a bugeye.

    PM him, he can talk you through what he did.

    I was going to get a connector from a wrecked 05~07 and do it that way.

    Yeah, it wouldn't be hard for you to get that, but for flatdude, he can just PM nicad and figure out how to do it for free

    It'll be the same difficulty for me to get that connector...I have to find a donor car/harness first.
