sup Whats up ya'll, My name is Shane and I just got an 06 STI on 2/28/09 and I love it. Everyday I drive I become more and more satisfied with life and the world. I live in loganville but can't spot going up to moutains every week to work on my smile. Right now I am just upgrading the stereo but am looking at all kinds of up-grades to the engine. I would like to get a stage 2 cobb, but still looking a round and learning the pros and cons. Is crawford tunning just for the west cost? This is the first board that i signed up to, I can't wait to wave at another STi owner. I already wave at any subie owner.

Thanks for the invitation, Alex. Actually I last posted a yr ago or more. I met "Miloman" at the Petit LeMans Subaru corral at Road Atlanta. I expressed interest in joining the corral the next time (I guess this was two yrs ago) because y'all weren't there last year. I live in St. Augustine, Fl, but love to go to roadraces at Road Atlanta, Sebring, Daytona, Miami, etc. I am an SCCA member and attended the the national championship rallycross event in Nashville, Tn late last yr. I was expecting a lot more, but it was fun anyway. Had a great drive back through the mountains of NC after visiting an aunt in Banner Elk. My car is an '05 WRX STi, silver. Mods are Hotchkis competition sway bars, front and rear. A 3" stainless exhaust (no cats) with a Borla muffler. My favorite mod was a computer reflash done at the dealer in Jacksonville. It gave me a lot more torque, boost upped to 19 lbs. at 3k rpm, some more hp. Otherwise car is stock. I have the graphs printed out for me. It was costly, but worth it. When I drove out of there and checked it out, the front end actually jumped up on acceleration. Never did that before! Lurking in your forum I read about guys that are spending thousands on front mount IC's and larger turbos who aren't getting any better results and I feel lucky I didn't go that route. I love my car and love to drive it. I don't mean any offense to anyone trying radical mods on their ride. I respect any and all enthusiasm for these cars. The sway bars and exhaust mentioned above were on the car when I bought it with 9k miles. I haven't done anything else on my own except to replace the rear bar links with lubed ones recently and installed a stainless heat shield above the turbo. My biggest gripe with my car is the double wing. It obstructs my vision when I am scanning the mirror for cops. I actually bought a WRX single wing in blue (brand new, a takeoff from the dealer) and the paint to repaint it, but haven't done it yet. It seems my wing is a hot item. I have already been approached by someone wanting to buy it. I put the single wing on the car to try it and plugged the extra holes with plastic plugs and silicone. Plugs didn't work well and eventually leaked water. I'm looking for a WRX trunk lid, but I'm going to keep the original STi wing and lid. I'm also thinking of putting the script "Turbo" from the Porsche on the lid if I can find one. Maybe not. I prefer to be called Larry even though my first name is David. I also visit NASIOC but don't think I have posted there yet either. Just went to the inaugural TransAm event at Road Atlanta in March and had a great time. Hardly any spectators since it wasn't promoted much. Saw a few Subarus grouped together near their campsites. Saw a really nice all black STi taking laps. I don't know how he did that. Had the thrill of my life taking a track tour. I thought I was going to get 1 lap for $10, but it turned into 10 laps! Unfortunately I was behind a dually pickup, but he was going at it hard. I would let him get ahead so I could get on the throttle briefly. Hit 91 at one point. Don't laugh, it was really fun! There were some really frustrated Porsche drivers who passed cars to get up some speed. We were told not to pass so I obeyed the rules.. They didn't get to do much more than I did anyway. My parents were from Georgia and I love the state. Mother from Milledgeville and father from Albany. I lived in Columbus (Ft. Benning) during my Army stint, and went to basic at Augusta (Ft. Gordon). Wish I could afford a second home there. My daughter is moving to Augusta soon. I just bought a pair of Hella Rallye 1000FF driving lights and was looking for ideas for mounting them on my STi. That's why I'm here right now. Haven't found anything yet. Lots of bugeyes on this site. Any hope to have a corral at Petit LeMans? I'd like to be in it. BTW, I always wave at WRX's!

Not sure how much farther I will take it as the Cobb stg 1 has kept me happy for 2 years.
