i know that my car is not running right because i have stage 2 mods without the AP, but i drive out of boost almost all the time, and have been babying my car because i`m getting the AP soon... but I was getting 340-360 a tank, so I`m starting to think that maybe something else is going wrong in my car? i had problems with idle and my car shut off on the road once (which was pretty scary), and since then the car has hard time keeping the rev above 500 (idle).. it would stay at 500, and then suddenly drop and come back again.. weird. I`m thinking maybe the spark plugs are going (my car has 117K miles and i dont know if i got new spark plugs arghh). hoping the problem would go away but if not, where should i look?
oh nooo.. just replaced it.. but it seems like catless DP creates issues with the O2 sensor without the AP so if that's the case, i`m not too worried; i just keep thinking it maybe something else
My mileage always drops in the winter because of all the cold starts. It seems like engines run rich when they're cold to help warm themselves up or something...?
I just went from averaging 300 to a tank to 325+....not sure WHY it went up. You may want to try an injector cleaner or something like seafoam. it's good stuff!
when i was all modded up, i used to get around 230-260.....and now that im back to stock...lowest was 298 and highest was 366
My 08 STI is averaging between 23-24mpg. I am getting over 300 miles a tank as long as I drive sane and don't get a lead foot.
Hmmm, I guess I am just more conservative with the boost on the street....I used to get over 300 to a tank and the fuel light would not even be on at that point...now with E85 I am getting around 260ish to a tank, no light coming on, just real low. I would say on gas that something is not quite right...have you calculated your MPG at each fill up?
yea calculated at each fill-up.. i dont know about sti guys, but it is ABNORMAL for my car to get anything less than 300 miles per tank... i used to average 320 miles a tank when my car was equipped with the AP.
You're lucky, I get 180 - 200 a tank, both O2's have been replaced. I have no idea why. I drive like a grandma.
if i drive out of boost i can get around 230 to a tank and thats boosting very little.... but im decently modded
the only thing i can say is even on premium just over 20 bucks fills my tank.... it was horrible when gas was sooo high
I average 280-310 a tank. I play a lot too. Check your rear o2. It'll kill your fuel economy quick if it is bad.
