My brand new ppg 1st and 2nd arrived at 9:00 this morning and I immediately opened the box. It was like Christmas morning all over again. Then the sadness hit. Fucking second gear is damaged. These were the replacements for my already broken ppg second gear. I guess it wasn't meant to happen. My biggest fear now is that since there were 2 different shipping companies involved they will just point fingers at each other and both deny any claim against shipping. I hope the vendor can work some magic and get it taking care of or I am going to completely lose it :grr: Here is areally big picture for your viewing displeasure.
I'm sorry, there's no warranty on that. CLEARLY customer abuse. Looks like shipping damage tho.
Who is the vendor and how can they not be held liable. Can damage like that occurr from shipping? You should hold the vendor responsible and have them sort it out with the shipping companies! They need to pack those things so they can withstand nuclear holocost!
Well I have the busted second gear out in the garage. After dinner I am picking up a hammer and doing some material testing. I need to know how much it takes to cause that damage before I'll believe its from shipping. I just doesn't seem likely. Plus even after spending an hour searching I didn't find any pieces in the packing.
If this is a reputable vendor then they should stand by their product end of story. If it was damaged during shipping the liability is on whoever packed it i.e. the sender.
That is just unreal.....how the hell do ppg gears get damaged banging around a bit in a box. I thought these things were supposed to be TOUGH, not shatter while wrapped in bubblewrap. Looks like nicks in the middle gear too?
Looks like the box of door cards we received today from ups that had 1 side completely torn off  ! That stinks dude
sadly that's most likely not going to happen. Working for a company who ships a ton of stuff via parcel and motor freight, we have shipping policies that go with packing to assure items aren't damaged unless the carrier really sucks. Most everything that ships nowadays ships F.O.B. (freight on board), meaning once it leaves the vendors facility they are not held liable for shipping damages and the customer handles the claims. However, I also work on the customer service / sales side and if a good customer of mine tells me something was damaged during shipment I reship them a replacement no questions asked. Once we receive back the original I'll get the claims process rolling, but I also work on commission and it's my job to make the customer happy. Hope your vendor feels the same way, sorry it arrived like that, your luck w/ ppg gears is...hnoes:
The new input shaft has been shipped from Australia. Big kudos to AndrewTech Automotive's top notch customer service.
Yay glad to hear! How's that 5mt holding up? Oh if you want to tinker on Sunday I will be at it from 9-2.
Looks like someone decide to play sword fight with that input shaft. That royally sucks Mike. Better luck next time.
now I know you are drunk it is affecting your vision. Thats how we roll when working on cars, right Mikey. lol Disassembly only I should add.
Drinking while disassembly is a breeze. Assembly while drinking equal a lot of head scratching, improper assembly, improper tq and ultimate another broke car.
