Every night I watch the sunset at Subaru of kennesaw I take pictures... due to boredom .. if anyone cares to see more pictures of the sky let me know. (i have my laptop at work now ) after the rain... the storm is coming... (not at subaru but a favorite) hope you enjoy
those are some great shots... like i said you have a damn good job lol... i wouldn't mind seeing more!
In like the symmetry of the first one and the contrast of the fifth one. When I am doing land or sea shots I try to remove the human element. Next time try to take a few without structures, power lines, cars etc. See how you like them. That is just my perspective though, you have to do what you like. They look great keep it up!
they're all really good (minus the man made stuff) but #5 is awesome. minus the cars and better equipment/settings would equal something i would hang on a wall. you should start a blog. skyblog, and just post up your shots/thoughts. interesting stuff.
these are just all unedited shots that I took with my powershot SD1000. I'm craving some real equipment cause i carry my camera everywhere with me ready for action. I'm not much of an editor But I'll try.. Thanks guys!
These are awesome! So many people take boring, half-assed sunset shots, but these are the exact opposite! You'd be hell on wheels with a nicer camera.
.. i'm going to try doing some editing today if I can find a minute b/t classes.. Ill post when I'm done
These days a Nikon D40 or Pentax K100 (or even K10) can be found for well under $300 on Craiglist. Both wonderful cameras that offer great "step up" features. You're shots are nice and I like the composition on several of your pics!
okay i have photoshop on my laptop.. my friend gave it to me.. but i can find the right tool. Everything i use makes it look too edited.. anyone know how to use photoshop or have any suggestions?
Yeah I'm working on trying to get one... but I'm getting a new car here at the end of the quarter.. so i've been saving for that as of now.. just bought a snowboarding trip. But that's what I'm shooting for just a d40 would be great. I've always loved taking pictures. And I've always known I wanted something more, guess I gotta work for it ssh:
Which version of Photoshop? If its a full version (not elements) then you'll want to look for actions, they are basically presets for achieving a certain look. There a hundreds of them. ATNCENTRAL.com is one of the larger sites that host actions and they are generally free. However, that's one of the problems with editing jpegs, the compression limits how much editing room you have. To learn more about photoshop, hit you tube and itunes for free video tutorials...
So, yep, check out some actions. They make it easy to achieve a desired effect in photoshop with limited knowledge of the program. Great things for beginners and even better for when you learn a little, then, you can use them as jumping off points. Just google/search photoshop actions and then browse around to find an action that would help you get the look for your photo you want to achieve.
Thank you for your help.. But I'm trying to remove things.. like they said power lines, buildings etc from my photos.. what would be the best way to achieve that?
Look up tutorials on "cloning". It can range from easy-ish (powerlines) to really hard (buildings)...I wouldn't worry too much about trying to alter existing photos though. I would focus on learning about composition and technique, even with a point and shoot such as your Canon, these skills are invaluable. Check out sites like: http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/ which have lots of helpful people and written articles and tutorials on things like composition, depth of field, aperture, shutter speed, etc. You seem to have a decent eye, so a little technique would go a long way....
