its kind of annoying. unlike Classic, they're being a no-access nazi to the service shop here. There is a service window, tho, so I can watch if I want. But it feels a bit ... ...Its not like I want to get in the way, but it sure feels a bit ridiculous watching from the elevated service window looking down silently like some kind of gargoyle.
12:32 King grabs 14mm socket. 12:33 King needs 3" extention. 12:34 King drops bolt on ground...picks up bolt.
Don't worry.. its for insurance reasons. I'm the receptionist and I'm not even allowed to go back there to tell someone they have a phone call.. I have to knock on the window.
yeah I'm sure you are. ;p . . .this is a function of boredom. I actually work in liability. Its a throwaway reason, honestly. Liability covers the whole building. If I fall in the lobby or bathroom or parts counter or shop makes no diff. tho I am sorry to hear they treat other workers like such. My friend/ride flaked on me too. So here I sit....windows is all updated at least.
So, is there like a upper lobby where you can look down on service. I have only seen the lower sections of the dealer. There is a window in the lower area too but you can't see the whole service department.
It is like a surgical viewing suite. You can look down and take pictures, waive, use your breath to create a litttle window prespiration so you can right messages to the tech's with your finger like, "are those metal shavings in the oil" ...........................meh!
yeah I've been back there a few times. But rules are rules. Trust that your car is in great hands with the king. To be honest I think they don't allow anyone back there so shit will get done, they are very busy and can't afford to be disturbed.
or rather, their insurance won't cover a customer injury. come to think of it, my breath is feeling a little bated too... wait, no. that's just the liver and onions i burped up. oh well, i tried.
Yea... they let me back there the other day while he did my alignment and I think she forgot about me. Needless to say 45 min later she came and dragged me out lol
lol we have the same policy at my shop. we say its liability but its mainly distracting to have customers watching and asking questions
uh, nope. just the one fat Randomtech. Anyways, the parts counter guy let me back there when I had to ask a couple questions of King that I didn't think about til I got there cuz I'm ignorant. Anyone whos read my posts here with any regularity knows I like to complain, so SOK at least has the service window to watch that I wanted. Price was fair & was betta than the local dealership competition. ..side note, anyone wanna see what 110,000 miles looks like on the stock spark plugs?
unfortunately, since the 'customer is alway right' at the dealership where I work they allow them to roam around untethered. It can get ---------- to have someone right behind you watching/asking pointless questions-giving you advice on how to fix the car, etc,.
