well got my 3'' cat back with no muffler bent up and put on a few days ago. i love the sound of it, but the plain jane 3'' pipe sticking out the back wasnt doing it for me. so i got a dual tip from auto zone this morning and had it welded on. i really like the aggressive look of it and am happy with the one i picked.

it might not be for everyone, but i like it :p

just thought id share some pics.

yeah, i just really like the dual look, and i thought the bend in it would be differnt. but it would look a hooole lot better i think if it was tucked back a little more, just didnt want it to burn the bumper

    Just my two cents...

I think if you flared the piping out to 3.5" at the end of the exhaust and had that last section made out of polished stainless it would look awesome.

Like this kind of. Thats on an RSX but you get the idea.

It certainly doesn't look bad, though. Those tips look cool, you just see them poorly installed on so many crappy cars that they have kind of a ricey stigma.

Not my cup of tea either. The DTM exhaust tips were popular back in the late 90's. now it seems like every ricer has them on their Honda since they sell them at all the major parts stores.

im a fan of just the 3 inch pipe sticking out the back... if you have any sorta heavy mods you may find the back of your car pretty black with the tips turned up...

I just went straight pipes too, but I did a turn down so it doesn't even look like I have an exhaust. lol. Its been raining here, but tomorrow will be dry so I'll have pics up for sure.

yeah, i thought about that too, but my old very modded lancer ha a 4"tipp dc sports catback and it fit perfect and flush but it still made my bumper black.. so not to worried about it right now.

like ive herd other people mention if i decide i dont like it, i could cut if off and have a turn down put on

ahh, thats what i had planned on origonally doing. but all the tip i found like that had a 3''id inlett. you would thing that would be perfect so you could jsut but weld it. but both shops i called up said they wouldnt do it because if you but weld chrome like that it will crack..

so i just went with the dual tip idea. cuz the inlett was 2 7/8'' id so it slid snug inside the pipe.

dude those shops are crazy... if you know what you are doing it can be done... i welded ugly ass 4x24 inch crome tips on red necks trucks all day long when i worked at the exhaust shop...

get some of these nice guys on here to do it for you. Im sure there is someone on here that knows someone, that knows someone that will do what you had originally planned. And too be 100% honest with you, that dual tip does not look that nice on the wrx. (just my opinion, you probably would not like half of the shit i do to my car)

    thx guys.

yeah, i think it looks good, but could be better. im not goin to dwell on it to much. can always change it later.

and yeah, the shops are pretty lame.. ive tried to get two of them to make me a cat delete and neither one of them would.. i can understand cuz they said its against federal law, but i even said well what if i brought the the right length pipe the flanges and the 02?.. and they still said no cuz it would be obvious what it was for... think its kinda lame cuz for all they know it could be goin on a car that i dont even use for street use.

so yeah im goin to find someone on here that will hook me up with that.

if u want something dual, and angled....go with Dual N1 style with larger tips. Would look better than DTM

The best looking dual tipped exhaust is the Maddad Whisper.

Not a fan of the angled tip but to each his own.

    Not so much.

They remind me of video game cars...Like San Fransisco Rush...or Midnight Club.

    ;)

I don't think I have heard one with a straight pipe....but then again, if it still has all the cats in it, it is going to still be kind of quiet compared to when those all go away, lol.
