Registrations for the T&T and #1 are both open! Get on it!!!!

First timers: The Test and Tune on Saturday isn't open for Novices (yet) but if you want to get into the sport it's a GREAT idea to come down and get rides and pointers because the runs don't count and we get 10 of them. I'd be glad to haul some people around. I'll bring my extra helmets.

You'll learn more about your car in 4, 1 minute runs than you could ever imagine.

Don't worry *too* much about classing our car at small events... nobody really cares unless you're going to run the whole season chasing after the class championship.

Well, the STI is an A stock car last I checked. I just want her to be in the proper class. :p

I just have to find the time, money, and motivation(to get up really early and drive down there one morning :p) to do it.

A totally stock STi *can* be in A stock, BSP, or STU... :naughty: You'd have better luck in STU if you don't have any mods... the other two classes include R-Comps so the times are 2 seconds faster. The mods you choose decide what class you get involved in. BSP is the most expensive by far, and STU *should* be the cheapest. I bet Brian, Mere, or myself can walk you through the ropes as to what's legal or not... PM me...

As far as I know, if you simply show up and join SCCA at the first event, you'll get the first event FREE and then $10 off for every event for the next year (or more if you renew). That's a good deal...

Last I heard from Team Solo guys this deal is no longer available, hope I'm wrong though.

That would SUCK.... especially with the worst economic crunch since the '70s going on...

Last year the national office mandated that all participants have to buy a weekend memebership. We have to pay the national office $10 for every non-scca member that attends our events. That has sucked up alot of our revenue and therefore we cannot afford to free events anymore. It was also a logistical nightmere for the registration team and online registrar. You can now use two weekend memberships for a total of $30 off a annual membership. This is the extact value of a free event. Now our registration lines can run a bit faster and we can get events moving better. Please keep in mind that everyone on TS is volunteers, we do not get paid to do this and most of the time we are the first on site and last to leave.

I suggest if you have questions or are looking for information please check our www.soloatlanta.com

I don't know where you are getting your information but this was never a policy we had.

If I can dig up the cash I'll make it out March 1st, trying to talk my brother into bringing his RSX out too.
Any idea how the course will be setup on such a big lot? ~2-3 minute runs? I'm excited.

While that would be fun, we'd also need about 60 course workers to staff a course that long. Most likely it will be in the 60 to 70 second range. Hopefully we will have pleasant weather for our first event.

HERE's the rulebook and the Atlanta supplemental rules can be found HERE
Thanks! I have one more quick question for you, I was digging around the SoloAtlanta rules and found this:
    18. Novice classes: Any inexperienced competitor may register as a novice. Competitors running in the novice class will not accumulate points toward the year-end championship.
    a) No competitor may run more than 2 events as a novice before graduating to their respective class (as determined by the current SCCA Solo II rulebook). It is strongly encouraged that all inexperienced competitors take an Atlanta Region novice school and upon completion graduate to their respective class.
    b) No more than 20 competitors may register in novice class per event. The 20 Novice entrants will be determined on a first-come first-served basis.
    c) Novice class participants will get 6 runs, however their times will not be recorded and reported in the results.

--As far as you know will all of these be enforced for event 1? Wasn't sure if novices would get 6 since it's such a big event. Thanks!

Yup, last year we changed the focus of novices from being in a "class" to being in a program. We decided to change it to 6 runs so that you get more seatime but we try to make up for the extra runs by not recording or auditing your times. Your times will still be displayed on our display and you will recieve a time at posting. However your times will not be in the event results. After two events you can move on to a class and you will only get four runs, but all your times will count for season points and overall event results.

Oh ok I thought you meant an extra more $10 off for new members!

    For non-members it's $40 and members pay $30. That's what I'm talking about.

Since I don't have time to catch up on all the changes, I'll just stop trying to be helpful.

Looking at the event 1 entry list and see a few people that have:
    "Sponsored by WRXatlanta.com"
is this anything more than people just saying they're members of the community? (e.g. can I say that i'm sponsored as long as I have stickers, heh)

AFAIK, you don't need anything in particular to be "sponsored" by WRXAtlanta, I did it without stickers. However, we should all have stickers/magnets...hmmm

People were "sponsored" by wrxatlanta because we had a wrxatlanta challenge. It was a PAX based system to score members of the club in the season's autox, so we could compete against one another.

Here's the link that talks about it:
