So today after driving down Mt. Paran Road i began to wonder where some other great roads may be. Anyone have a favorite road they love to "drive safely and in no way break the law on?" I remember pEd telling me about a road from ATL to Cummings that is great to "drive safely on and in no way break the law on." If you have one you would like to share that would be great.
salacoa road is pretty fun and hwy 108 is a good drive... lots of just nice roads to drive up just a bit north of canton
Queencity Avenue, Tuscaloosa Google map it. Search Queen City Park. Its my 1/4 mile tail and super steep!
Any Entrance ramp and ofcourse the Ga400 toll booth exit.... Riverside Drive.......Not so much, can you say "reckless" above 60mph!
In Loganville there's about a 3 mile stretch of awesomeness called Kent Rock road. Its almost like a little rally stage. Its really narrow and there isn't much traffic usually. I used to run up and down that road all the time when I first got my car.
Yeah, I went to Loganville High and that's a good road...had a girlfriend that lived off of Cannon Farm just SE of Kent Rock. Another really good one is Stewart rd, about a mile (maybe) east of there. Funny...had another girlfriend that lived off that road, too. New lady friend's from c-vegas and I also agree Dabb's bridge rocks, especially some of the connecting roads (like the one that connects to Old Alabama). Jeb and I have driven back up in there before.
Great road, I get to hear all the stuff slide around in the back of the car on it. For those that may look for it. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=33.740828,-83.899713&spn=0.025944,0.071797&z=15
Also in Loganville there's Sharon Church Road. It crosses over Center Hill Church road on the way to HWY138. The stretch between Center Hill Church and Miller Bottom road is EPIC. There's a few spots along the road where you can catch a tiny bit of air if you're insane enough (teehee), and there's probably 5 90-degree corners. Lots of gentle, on camber stuff too that you can just clip right on through. Best to do so during the day, though. It hits Miller Bottom road (also fun) which takes you to HWY138. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=33.740828,-83.899713&spn=0.025944,0.071797&z=15 Its about a mile from Kent Rock. If the cops around there weren't such d-bags that would be an awesome loop to burn a tank of gas on one sunday afternoon.
The gravel road my family lives on in Fayetteville...I have driven sideways down that road hundreds of times starting at age 12 in a 1991 Chevy Astro Van! Go-carts, 4-wheelers, my old Z-71, now the Subie. About once a month someone ends up in a ditch or in the creek on the road...I've had some close calls but always recovered. I love it, slide the WRX all the way down it at the top of second gear :wiggle:.
The road in front of the Etowah Indian mounds. I refer to it as my racetrack, and like to scare the shit out of people on it. The first turn going west to east is blind. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...&cbp=12,69.4975680263373,,0,4.073418678397103 http://maps.google.com/maps?q=etowa...ent=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl Bates / Lead road and the little mountain roads that are off of it are pretty awesome too if you're in the Cartersville area. They have some crazy elevation changes. I once got airborn http://maps.google.com/maps?q=etowa...ent=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl
omg, we stumbled upon Salacoa recently on bikes. Except for some corners with small gravel on them, it was frickin awesome.
