I've been toying with the idea for awhile.

Right now 3" full catless with a single straight through magnaflow muffler.

    And....go.

Thats the thing is that I'm kind of used to it. My car is rather quiet on the inside, really. Its just a little loud when I really give it the beans.

I'd probably have it made so I could switch out with my current exhaust pretty much at will. I bet I could get it for 150 bucks at the place that made my current exhaust.

Just pull your muffler off and crank it up....bam straight pipe sound. Long as you don't drive it for over 30 minute intervals the heat from the exhaust won't hurt anything. Will tell u exactly what to expect, just from a little further back. I've had straight pipes made at muffler shops for 20 bucks.

Oh I know what its going to sound like. :)

The thing is that my catback is all one piece, so I can't just replace a section.

I'd also like to see what i could do about the way the exhaust looks from the rear.

Do you get harassed by the police a lot for how loud your car is?

I kinda heard a couple straight pipe setups at the midnight photo shoot. I love the idle but I'd love to get a ride along with someone who has one (and maybe ride behind). I thought about having one made for track events. Anyone have any idea what kind of hp gains you get from one? I'd say if it wasnt more than a 10+hp gain it wouldn't be worth it for the street IMO.

i never did it really for the hp gain, i think from what i heard you might spool a little faster just because of less back pressure, i just love the sound.... my favorite part is when dumb people ask me if i have a V8.... next time out and around when i have money i would be more than happy to take you for a ride

Yeah, a quicker spool kinda makes sense. Maybe some tuners will chime in and shed some light on the benifits.

and I agree it sounds great

yeah i always have loud cars in and out of my house and i listen to them long after they have left... the best part is everyone is slammed on the ground so they have to go slow in my driveway so there is no being quiet... but why not just have an axleback made that you can bolt on and you can take it off when you want... pm me and i can have you one made for like 70 bucks or so...

I may be interested in one. I like the idea of a quick axle back bolt-on because I'd prob only use it when I race. The good thing is that the track is 1.5miles from my house so I'm not likely to get into trouble with the popo. I dont even have to hit any main rds

    Wow, that sounds great, actually.

I was thinking today while driving that my car is pretty ridiculously loud already. The problem is that my catback is all one piece, so I'd have to have a flange installed somewhere and a second section made. I'm guessing this will be expensive then.

I'm halfway thinking of waiting a bit and getting a really nice stainless, mandrel bent one made with a mean ass looking tip made. You know, a big (but classy) JDM style tip. Then, when I get tired of it I can have a muffler installed in the pipe somewhere.

I'm also thinking of just getting my muffler chopped out and replaced with a piece of pipe sometime next week. lol.

So idk. I'm also catless. My car will be retarded loud.

just have a vband put in right before where your muffler is now, that way you can switch them out easily.

thanks on the sound.... for the extra flanges im sure i could get you something done for around a 100.... as for the mandrel bent stainless, that will be mucho $$$$, and dont jusdt chop the muffler out because if you dont like it then you have to chop it and pout the muffler back in and then its just a mess
