I have an 04 sti and I went to sog and bought a keyless entry fob but the service manager and I could not get it to link up with the car. The car would not make the sound after turning the key a bunch of times. He said there is some control box missing under the dash and that is why its not linking up. I looked through the service manual and I think its either the body integrated module or the keyless entry control module. Which one can you see just by looking up from the floor board? What does the connector look like? Also the security light always flashes when the key is not in the ignition. Dunno if that helps. He said to ask for wjs(I think) on the boards here and he was an old tech from SOG. Thanks in advance for the help, Ryan
It says keyless entry on the box although it may be hard to read without removing it first. I have an extra if yours is not working.
WJM - Will, he used to work at SoG, now he's in Jacksonville, FL. Sorry, can't help you much with the keyless portion, but if nobody else can you can shoot him a PM and see what he has to say. We have a few other techs on here as well...Kingrex works at SoK, and Liquidforce should work where ever he wants...he knows a lot
Yeah I think that might be it. Can you describe the connector for me? like color and number of pins. If that's it I will definitely take it off your hands. Thanks a lot man!
I can put you a new keyless in if you need one. It wont be factory but its a Directed(makes viper) unit which is the best in aftermarket.
Thanks man, I'll let you know if I can't get the Subaru one to work. I already bought the keyless entry fob. Oh ok, it flashes even with the door unlocked so I didn't know if that was normal. I just looked up under the dash and the connector is a 5 wire black connector in kinda a [ shape that is on the same harness as the two green test connectors. Can anyone look under the dash and see if that's the one? Thanks a lot for the help so far, Ryan
