So I want back into a Subie, I think. The only cars that stand in the way are an E46 M3 and a B6 Audi S4. I need more POWA. The A4 is sex, but like slow sex with a boring chick:rofl:

    What to do? 06-07 STi or 03+ E46 M3 or 03+ S4

:coolugh: Probably looking around this time next year.

    Thoughts?

M3 if doing the maintenance isn't going to be an issue, otherwise grab a legacy spec.b for 6spd goodness!

M3 if the maintenance doesn't scare you. They require a lot to keep them going. Make sure to check the M3 forums before you go this route.

I wouldn't go for the S4. Very heavy cars from what I hear.

A Legacy Spec-B would be more in line with the other cars you are looking at in terms of features and luxury. The STI is not as comfortable as the other cars you mentioned.

I'm a M3 board and bimmerforum whore. The maintenance doesnt scare me, warranty FTW. The car won't be modded much past exhaust and wheels.

The S4 is a pig, but the V8 has lots of grunt. Plus Audi interior>BMW.

The 08 Sti would beb great, but the hatch stlye is not to my personal liking. They look good, but I don't see myself rolling in one.

The German car prices are finally getting hit. Prices are falling fast! Sweeeeet!

M3 or v8 S4. Once one owns a suby, he/she has spoiled it for other cars for life.

08-09 sti with tune the NEXT DAY. and i think you will love the new chassis.
    or a 06 sti
stay away from 07. they fucked the front suspension geometry. you can't rotate them on the track with any reliability. so, it's an 08 sti ecu with a wrx castor.

if you prefer a coupe, get the M3. of course, test drive both sti/m3 and remember you can only have so much fun on bad roads with rwd.

come drive my R32 then you will have your answer.

Awesome German interior, AWD, plenty of power and driveability, realtively low buy-in (Mid $20k)

M3s have no torque so they feel slow...
S4s are nice, but $$$ to repair...

If you were happy with a Suby, get another Suby!

I agree. you could always check out mine as well, but i dont have the flashy DSG and tune like gotsol...

But the R32 could always use more power also...

^^^ '04 is the best year. Hands down! Other than an '08 STi, that's the only thing I'd rather have than my Forester (within reason).

04's look great and have awesome seats for sure.

The 08's have a much better chasis and a nicer interior (other than the seats, which are still quite good.)

Lol @ the interior comment. We can build you an interior in the subaru for less than price difference between either the m or s and the legacy.

Warranty, reliability, easy modding? If being a subaru owner is so wrong, then I don't want to be right :)

I love dual tip exhausts, but I absolutely hate how far spaced apart they are on the newer R32's. The old R32 exhaust is sex though...
