Ight, i know i made a thread a while back about deciding on a clutch. Well, ive been thinking since and want something that is going to be stronger than the stock but is still a good clutch for some power in the future. Ive seen many recommend ACT and some say Exedy, i just need a clutch that is good for DD but will hold up with some hard driving and not get to hot and will hold good power when i decide to do the mods. Im not planning for a turbo upgrade just quite yet since this is my DD.

Any ideas? Any help would be great! Thanks.

Exedy or ACT. I have only dealt with the ACT stuff and I would highly recommend it. You could just get the street disc and HD Pressure plate.

I have sold a lot of clutches. Act, exedy, carbonetic, competion clutch, tilton, and so on.

Act is the best street clutch for the money period. Worst case you wear out the disc in a couple years you buy a replacement. For your set up I would run the street disc.

    Take care!

Yea ive been looking into the street disc and HD pressure plate by ACT. Anybody know where i can catch a descent price on that kit? I looked on ebay and they got it for $740 and free shipping, comes with disc, PP, and both bearings. Any ideas on that?

Is Competition clutches not worth a crap?

There are plenty of vendors that support this site that can get you a good deal on it.

I personally have never dealt with competition clutchees before. The last thing youw ant to do is go with an unproven clutch company. If it was an hour job I would say go for it...but it is a pita to swap clutches out. Go with something that has been proven. I am telling you to go with ACT even though I dont have one in my car right now. I wonder why:)??

I love my Competition Clutch disc (full face Carbon/Kevlar), pressure plate, and 13 lb flywheel. They are a great company. Call them up for some pricing. 1-800-809-6598

My car is a 2005 STI, all ive heard was good things about ACT but ive never had one myself.

Although, i was just wondering how Competition clutches were on STI's as i can get a descent deal on one through a friend of mine. Just trying to get some opinions on different brands.

I have seen them for around $670 shipped. I am sure one of the vendors on thsi board would price match that.
