Oh I wasn't even considering running. :eek:hnoes: I can launch the car but would WAY rather not risk it.

But watching and getting some sweet photos wouldn't be too bad.

i broke my tranny after running 26 times in one day! (this was may of 06).

it was weird that i made it 2 hours back home before it broke though.

I'll be there and this time with a decent clutch. Hopefully I'll be able to run better than the 12.7 @ 119 I ran last time there.

I'll be there and no worries for me about my transmission. The straight cut ppg gearset can handle an 18g no problem.

    I'm hoping to run high 11's .

I was wondering if anyone would notice that last sentence:)

Matt and I are going to try something with a billet wheel....That is all I am going to say for now.

I think I am going with a bigger turbo though:) Looks like those turbos will make great power!

Seriously, I don't launch my car, ever.....I do not drive around town like a bat out of hell 24/7. Most of my time driving is spent sitting in Atlanta traffic. I might be able to get on it 2-3 times a day and only in one gear at the most. I am more concerned about the motor than the tranny at this point.

Your going bigger than the 58mm wheel?

I'd be afraid...from what I've heard, anything much bigger than what you have is going to start requiring massive work. Are you planning on going fully built sleeved block as well?

Even if you don't launch your car, you're still putting a ton of stress on the drivetrain when you force 500whp on it...that shock is going to take its toll

I wont be able to make it this year unfortunately :(

You dont need a sleeved block to run 59+ mm wheel. I do have a spare long block that will be fully built(Pistons, Rods, cams, valvetrain, etc...). Still waiting on Matt's uncle to start with the heads and install my rods into the shortblock. It should easily hold 600+HP.

    I know I know....Tranny is next....I will get a 6spd swap soon as well.

Which turbo are you going for?

I thoguht the T3/T04E turbo I had right now was a 60MM wheel?

It's not the size of the wheel, it's the amount of power you're putting down. SS was telling us how TS starts to accommodate any engine that approaches the 500whp mark. Cliff notes: the cylinder pressures get so high the cylinders try to square themselves out. You need to sleeve the block or add extra supports to dissipate the pressures on the cylinder sidewalls. Unless you're adding more displacement, 600whp on 2.5L block is :eek:hnoes:

We're predicting better numbers than your T3/T04E w/ the 58mm on my car...that's enough for me. Anything past that is going to require a TON more work.

    FTZ ^.^

I am not going to make it this year. Good Luck Christy. Hope you have a good turnout.

Maybe but not that crap drilled compressor housing:) I would opt for a machines compressor housing.

Of course not. I know what you getting ;) VERY interested in it.

DANG guys you aren't helping me finalize a turbo decision!

  34. integroid

If I was going with that turbo, I would get the 62MM wheel journal bearing version with the machined compressor housing from precision. I hear that turbo spools faster than a 35R and make power equal to a GT37. Plus they are lighter in weight:)
