trying to find deadbolts website and cant find it. i tried deadboltturbos, deadboltenterprises. what is the correct site name
It was hacked. I don't know if it got fixed. Let me check. It did get hacked. I don't know the details. Here is a link that will get you in though. http://www.boostplanet.com/product7.htm
It would probably be best to call. I don't know details on anything but Jerry has had some problems as of late. Maybe Matt(2pt5rs) knows something I don't.
From what I know, Deadbolt Turbos (Boostplanet) has been shut down permanently, due to health problems with Jerry. I will try out some contacts tomorrow, and update you on what I hear.
Stephen, before jumping in too far, you may want to look into Matt or Mike's kits. Like I was telling you Saturday, they're one hell of a deal if you don't already have all the pieces, like the vband EWGs and piping. I was initially looking at the 20g-->SZ49-->SZ55-->GT30-->Matt Ball. Just a thought...but shoot them a PM or give one a call and see what they can't do for you.
If rotated is a consideration... Brandon at BG just put a Precision 6062 Billet wheel turbo on his 240, it falls 200rpms short of his 2871 on spool but its going to have no problem making 400-450whp on pump and it should make close to 600whp on racegas or meth. I'm doing a 58mm Billet precision turbo on Drews car and a 62mm Billet wheel turbo on another members car (he can chime in if he wants). The 6262 should be a beast since he is going to put in a built motor, that turbo should be good for 650whp, I'm sure it will make 400-450whp on pump. As far as I know Deadbolt is out of business there is a post in the vendor only section on iwsti. Matt
yeah sean couldn't ever get any of his phone calls returns about his 20g. And there were rumors about it being out of business. I'm almost in 100% agreeance with everyone else they're closed. And at least as far as what I have heard so far, I think you should seriously consider ball's kits.
the biggest draw with deadbolt was the 'free rebuilds for life'. if that's gone I would probably go with something else IMO
^^ well yes, to some extent. Jerry really was a stand up guy. I hate to see them close shop. If I were looking for a turbo, I would still look into a Deadbolt (if you wanted a stock mount). Otherwise, I'd bother Ball or Sargent for one of their very impressive kits.
Evertying I have read says they are closed for good. He even sent out a notice to his vendors and one of them posted it on NASIOC. The 6262 turbo would be for me when I get my built motor. I was planning on putting it on in the next few weeks but I think I am just going to wait till my built motor gets put in. If I would have known what I know now, I would have gone rotated to begin with instead of getting that 20G. I cost me the same amount of money in the long run plus they are much easier to work on because of the placement of the turbo. If you get one of the new journal bearing billet Precision turbos, they are cheap to fix like any other journal bearing turbo. The advantage to these turbo is that they spool just as fast as a Garret BB turbo.
there is no consistent news regarding Jerry and what's going on...It's rather disconcerting. I think if he were to go out of business, then he would let everyone know, not have his vendors do it for him. There also was an issue between him and his web guy over monies owed. There is a tiny bit of information on here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=25978792#post25978792 Let's hope that he is okay.
I figured you would have talked to him or talked to someone who had. It just blows. From what I read, Deadbolt is out of business and Jerry is not in good health. At least that is the consistent line from everywhere.
yeah, I read the OT thread...In my experience, even in cases like this, I don't believe what I read in OT. Hell, I'll go to Asheville and move all his stuff down here and open it back up!
They didn't get hacked. Jerry put that up there. And closed the doors. He was getting in it with the guy on the page. Something about a credit card dispute. So Jerry posted his picture on the site...
