My wife curbbed one of my wheels!

In an effort to bring fresh posts to this board I offer this latest tale of my wife's adventures with immovable objects.

She took the R32 to the airport this week and I kept the TT Roadster. It was a great week for top down pimpin.

She came home last night and told me she may have hit a curb coming out of the parking lot but couldn't find the damage.

This morning at 5AM I head out the door to go to the gym and even in the dark I see this massively deep curb rash. This wasn't just a curb rub she rounded the edge of the lip! I'm surprised she didn't pop the tire off the bead or cut the sidewall. I'll post pics tomorrow.

I was so pissed because I had a buyer lined up for these wheels.

She is sorry of course but this is the second set of wheels she has curbed. She also curbed the GTI's wheels. WTF!?

I have a set of Audi S5 replica wheels waiting for new tires so the black RS4 replicas are coming off regardless. She suggests buying just one replacement wheel and then selling the set. I don't want to buy another rim but who wants a set that are curbed?

Oh if only this was the biggest issue I will have to face in my life.

You gonna let her curb a 3rd set before you learn your lesson?

    I feel ya

2 weeks after I paid $800 for a set of near mint 18" OZ Superleggeras my wife obliterated the right rear- 6" worth of major curbage. I was sick to my stomach when I saw it.

I know it's not the most important thing in the world... but I could still taste a litlle vomit in my mouth...

Your post count rocks right now...either there is an emergency or its an omen of your next car purchase...as for the wheels, sorry to hear it, my wife refuses to drive my cars for this very reason....

Women, can't live with 'em, can't fuck the dog!

This reminds me of the time I went to take the math placement exams at Gwinnett Tech. We had been out the night before and she was hung over (I was too, but I would never admit that), anyway I didn't have time to take her home before going to the school to take the test so I made her come with me.

I get to the school and offer that she come inside and hang out in the comfortable air conditioned lobby while I take the test, but she wanted to wait in the car.

I go in and take the test, which takes about an hour, and I am walking out to the parking lot back to my car and I get to where I had parked it...but it's not there. Okay, no big deal, I guess she moved it. Why, who knows? I do a quick 360 look around and see it a few lanes over, I head over and about 20 feet from my car I start to smell that thick, heavy, acidic aroma hanging in the air that can only be one thing...ROASTED clutch...great! So, I walk over and hang my head in the open window, and she is sleeping, which is probably what saved her life because she looked really pretty and peacefull. I guess that she must have felt me blocking the sun because she woke up. I was like..."Hey sweetie, whats that smell!?!" The look on her face was pittiful...she fessed up and told me that she had made a boo-boo...she even stuck out her bottom lip for effect...it worked.

The burnt clutch was only half of it.

The story was that she had needed to use the restroom, and instead of walking to the main building she decided that it was too far (maybe 50 yards, definately not too far to walk) and that she needed to drive a little bit closer. However, she didn't realize that there was a parking block in front of the car...yeah...a parking block...she drove over it, well, at least up to the front tires....WHAT!!? The burnt clutch was from her backing up after running up onto the block, I guess she was nervous and was trying to slowly back up to avoid doing any more damage and so she was slipping the clutch...the lightweight flywheel in the tranny didn't help the situation either. She burned that clutch good too, I could smell it for 3 or 4 days after it happend.

So, I am freaking out on the inside...but on the outside I am keeping it together. I simmered down quite a bit when I found out that she didn't completely drive over the parking block. I was mainly upset because if she had come inside with me then she would have been even closer to the restrooms than she was after moving my car...and none of this would have happend.

Anyway...everything turned out okay. The clutch smoothed out after a couple of weeks and the only damage to the front end was some scrapes where no one can see and some broken fasteners on the rock guard. No big deal, and in her defence, I just so happend to park in one of about 12 spaces in the entire lot that had a parking block. So, sitting in the drivers seat looking around the lot you didn't see any other parking blocks.

She felt really bad about it, and I gave her a hard time, but you can't get mad at something like that because it is just a car. I think that she was really surprised that I didn't blow up on her...I think that is what she was expecting, but I am not like that.

she has a 1.4 mile commute. A scooter would work but noooo, she has to have an Audi TT.
