When the motor is cold (at start up), the pressure reads in the neighborhood as it should ~ 100psi. When the motor is completely warmed up and at idle, the pressure reads ~ 36 to 40 psi.

When I am driving around (even in cruise control at high way speeds for example), the gauge will do a little dance from time to time. While this is happening there is no visible difference in motor sound or performance. I dont know if the sending unit is going bad or what.

    Thoughts?

One of the wires is probably grounding out on something.

From sender to defi unit or unit to gauge you think?

Shouldn't the oil pressure read at around 12 psi when fully warmed at idle and should reach to approximately 40 psi when at full throttle? That is what mine does.

Uhhhh...NO...stop driving that car, you should be seeing closer to 100 psi at full throttle. You need to hook up another oil pressure sensor and check that reading again.

yeah, I think my defi gauge reads in the 20s for warmed up idle, and high 90s full throttle or cold. I don't get that bounciness though.

Well jeeze just rub it in! I will pull the pod and check my connections where I tapped into the clock harness and go from there. Sounds like a fun weekend project :)
