For pulling an all nighter with me to get my drivetrain swapped! The project started with Jake picking me up from an undisclosed location in Norcross then driving me around to pick my clutch up from Zen and Fluids from SOG. Did you know the Extra S + Rear Diff LSD fluid is $90 there? :eek:hnoes:

Afterwards to avoid having to rent a truck to haul my new drivetrain in Jake volunteered his little L that could to carry everything in the trunk  So that was the 6 speed, Rear Diff, driveshaft and axles all in the trunk of an Impreza L Sedan! Talk about some serious wheelie time.

So after that we made our way to Breel's toybox on the Southside and got to work. We ran into a few problems but everything seemed to work out perfect. I only had 2 of the Sti axles but luckily my stock wrx axles fit perfectly. Finally I was able to roll home around 7 am this morning!

Thanks guys! I doubt your even awake yet to read this but I am sincerely indebted to you

no problem ben, great to have met you. Yeah needless to say I am exhausted. Got home around 7:30, showered then went straight to work for a mandatory meeting, then came home and crashed till just now. It's a jdm mad tyte '03 bugeye sti trans. I think all that's leftis a little buttoning up small things like getting the DCCD controller purchased and hooked up, then making sure nothing came loose since he drove it home and going back over the engine bay. We threw everything together cuz we were all tired as hell. But all in all a great way to spend 17 hours+ of my life, lol

Yea the intercooler was loose so I had 0 boost home. Also the catback bolts fell out so im pretty much open downpipe now. All in all the car drives smoother now. Haven't goten a chance to really analyze the gearing and MPG change but I'll chime in when I figure it out.

Hell I'm just glad that you got it out of the shop under it's own power. And thanks Jake for throwing the diff at me and Jason for superb supervising skills. All in all, it went good. And honestly I don't think a tire change could have gone any smoother. And don't forget the "Ghost" who limped his LUV almost back to the shop with the alignment tool. I think it's time to shoe horn a 2.0L in that truck. Good night finally

Well thanks for coming down and helping with the swap, I have a feeling Dana would be found in a pool of blood and me in hiding without you and Jason's help. Just no more throwing diffs at people and how the hell I caught it in the first place still confuses me. Pick up some mounts and we'll get that bar mounted, don't think it would be an all nighter for that.

i wanna compare that to my 06 sti 6spd, i mean gear ratio comparison.

Lol the gear ratios are short as hell. At 60 in 6th gear im at 2700 rpms. It pulls like a sob tho. And your right King, I'm much more happier knowing it'll hold up to what I have to throw at it. You'll be seeing it this week for an alignment

Steady there Sparta, your going to be the truck bitch holding tubing while I weld up the cage this weekend on the Ranger. And your 6 shy of a case to set the record straight. I'll see you at the shop at 7:00pm Friday. Once the welding is done, we'll start on the wiring harness.
