This looks to be a pretty good design. Just wondering what some of the masterminds here thought. http://www.iwsti.com/forums/vendor-...ickup-groupbuy-say-no-oil-pickup-failure.html
looks cool... but why go through all the trouble of removing your oil pan and not just installing the Moroso pan
^^^ because this route is $400 less expensive. I'm probably going to get one at that price... It's going to be hard to say no.
Yeah, I have 2 STI's to buy for, so it will have to be $400 for pick ups versus $1200 for Moroso oil pans. I might opt for a Moroso pan for my 05 later down the road. This pick up will do for now.
Guess I don't see it the same way as you guys then. Removing the oilpan is no real easy task, if it was something I was going to do I would make sure I was upgrading my oil pan as well. But then again I plan to track my car a bunch.
Thoughts? I love the new design. If I felt like buying a new pan right now I would definitely do this. Not to mention I have had a few talks with KillerB in the past and he seems like a decent Vendor on IW
EVERYONE should buy this - I lost my built motor to oil starvation due to a snapped off pickup... Trust me - it's cheap insurance to spend 200 bucks and not have to worry about it - I wish I'd known about this 6 months ago when my motor got built.
If there is enough interest I could see about buying 10 of them from him. I talked with him a while back about selling each others parts. He seems like a good guy and they seem to put a lot of effort into their designs.
Yeah, he has been designing and testing on this pick up for quite a while now. It should be top notch.
I'm thinking of going ahead and getting one for the 2.5L that will make it in my car. Reason I'm not going with the Moroso pan is I don't think it will clear my ELH. Please I daily the car with no track days so stock pan is plenty for me.
