Has anyone used the AP2 dyno application? I was just wondering, how accurate is the dyno on the AP2? Did anyone ever compared the dyno from ap to an actual dyno?
From what I've heard from users on IWSTI... the results are not even close to accurate. And vary widely between users with similar setups..
Its actually fairly accurate if you get the curb weight with driver correct and have it on a level road.
I did a 3rd gear pull, my setup. Weight:3058 Gear:3 RPM:3000-5500 I ran stage 1 with 91. Gave me like 210hp-215trq. Doug, i weight in at 190lbs. Car mods:cold air No weight reductions. Fill this out: Weight: Gear: RPM: What setup should i try tommorow to get best results?
Ill do another test Monday morning on my way to work. 2nd gear getting on high way. This way i wont brake any laws, unless its illegal to redline your car, or accelerate too fast.
I just came back from work. Setup: Stage 1 map from cobb 2nd gear RPM 2500-6500 weight:3405 Results:230-240hp 230-240trq. Sounds to good to be true.
Your car is proabably around 3250 with you in it. Make sure the road is flat as the dyno uses vehicle accel to calculate the power. Also if your tire size is off it will make it read wrong. I would dyno in 3rd. Like dyno's in the real world its always good to get a baseline. So keeping the same settings and using the same road should give you repeatable results if you add mods.
Ill try this setup tomorow: Setup: Stage 1 map from cobb 3rd gear RPM 2500-6500 weight:3250 Wheels and tires are:17x7.5rpf1s with i beleive 225s. Sorry i forgot what size tires im running, lol.
Just came back from work and did another test. All info on the car. 02 wrx 125k CAI Sti catback greddy BOV(dont ask) ssh: Tire/wheels:rpf1s with 225/45/17 tires Stage 1 from Cobb Ap2 Dyno setup: Weight:3205 Gear:3rd rpm:2500-6500 Results: 228hp @ 5154rpm 258tq @ 3759 The road i used for the test is straight as it gets, it is leveled as it gets. If the results are anywhere near the real results, id be happy.
