    Another wonderful day at Commerce.

Get there and get through tech right at noon and it looks like I'll get plenty of runs since the place is empty. I spend the next 15 minutes waiting for the vp person to show up so I can get some c16. I am on empty and get frustrated waiting so I go out of the track to go get a couple of gallons of 93. Its now 12:30ish.

I finally get staged for the first run. The track is well prepped is is good for hooking up but not so good for the act organic clutch disc. I still manage to get a 1.98 60 but when I went to shift to second it woouldn't go. It took 3 tries to get it into gear. 3rd and 4th were the same. Needles to say the run was not good. I ended up with a 12.9 @ 114.9.

For some reason the car won't shift at high rpms. After the run it wouldn't even shift into first from a dead stop. I had to put it in second get it to roll slightly then I could get it into first.

On the next run I decided to try flat shifting thinking that maybe it would do better. It still wouldn't go.

By this time it was 1:00 and they shut the track down to set up for the show Pass Time. Figuring it would just be closed an hour we run and get something to eat. We get back only to discover that they are done with the test and tune. It was supposed to be from 12 to 4 but it only ended up being less than one hour.

We did however get asked to be on the show but decided against it since we were scheduled to be on episode 6 which they would be running at 9:30.

All in all a dissapointing day. At least once the tranny cooled down it shifted better and I was able to drive home.

You think it could be that you need to bleed your clutch system?

It maybe that I bent my clutch fork trying to get the piston on the slave cylinder set right or maybe the tranny doesn't like extra-s.

The gears are awesome and the clutch even held up to 25 psi. It just couldn't take the launch.

One race had to look bizzare from the stands. I was lined up against a new gto and he would pull 2 car lengths on my while I was trying trying to shift but as soon as I got it in gear I would pull a car length on him.

If the car would have shifted quicker I would have had some respectable times.

If I need to pull the tranny a six puck is going in. I hate them for day to day driving but not being able to launch sucks even more.

I had fun despite the track closure, mike's troubles and my slipping clutch. Hopefully it is just the fluid that car is a beast and a trouble free full boost run must be seen!

With my 1.99 60ft you still managed to walk me BAD! I think it was our best run of the few and head to head...I knew when you shifted (or tried) cause I was catching you then the additional 100 ponies took charge. I think matt has this run of us on video, the audio rocks we take off decent launch for both matt is stoked right up till I missed third bad. Maybe he can throw it up.

This one is all about the audio and a little embarrassing...please excuse what sounds like a sorry ass orgasm, it was my second run on a drag strip. Rick nailed the launch and pinned my head back.

Mike when I got my PPG tranny I was told not to use Subaru tranny fluid, they told me to use redline heavy duty shock proof I think.

Well at least none of use broke anything. I final got my car to take a launch in the last 2 passes, but nothing good to write home about. 1.80 60ft 12.7 @109. Not the normal 12.4 @110. I atleast got to put the car on the scales... 2855lbs fully dressed.(tool bag, jumper cables, jack, spare, etc)

This all sucks! I was looking forward to some but whupping. Mike your car is pulling HARD until you missed what 3 shifts?. You got some high 120's in there, just get those issues worked out!.

It does indeed suck. I was running 12.4's at 117 with a 20g and the stock 5mt.

It took two or three tries on each shift to get it into gear. By the time I did get it into gear it was out of the power band and I had to wait for the turbo to spool all over again.

Just got back from a test drive after draining some fluid and adding in some atf. The fluid was about 1/2 to 3/4 qt too full. Now that it is at the right level I was able to make the shift at 7k on the first try. I was also able to flat shift from first to second.

Hopefully I'll get back to the track in the next week or so.

The clutch is still going to be an issue at the track though, but I like to think of it as the fuse in the driveline. I'd really hate to break the gears.
