This weekend I was up in the mountains, getting ready to do a little backpacking. Driving along behind a truck Friday morning, and a deer jumps across the road in front of him. He narrowly avoids it, I slow down, and then bam! hit the next deer that followed the first. Now, I know the old adage about how there's always more than one, and I was even looking for the next one, but holy shit that was fast. Thankfully it just busted the right headlight. Lamp still works, just cracked the plastic. I'll get some pics up later today. I need some help figuring how to solve this though. My insurance deductible is $500. A new headlamp should be less than that, right? So I should just look around for the best deal. I looked through ~9 pages on IWSTi and didn't see any for sale via private party. Looked on https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html and it's listed for $455. Where else should I look? Thanks for any help with this.... much appreciated!
Thanks. Also, do I need the cover or the whole assembly? I'm assuming my ballast, lamps, etc are all still good so I'd just need the covered bit, right?
I don't think you can get just the cover. If subaru did that for the 08+ then they can go die in a fire!
Well the 'housing' part is $455. But thankfully I took a look at my insurance and realized/remembered my deductible was $100 instead of $500 so I'll just go that way. Having Black and Fuller handle it next week. And it's comprehensive 'act of god/deer' so it shouldn't raise my rate.
Bad week for wild life... I killed a squirrel this morning.. Didn't fair well vs. RE070's.. R.I.P Squirrel E. Squirrelerson....
