Want to give a shout out to Breel for taking the time to powder coat just about everything... Exhaust Manifold AND Stock Heatshield Hotside of Turbo Valve Covers TGVs Intake Uppipe Downpipe All IC Piping I'm not sure if he may sign up as a vendor and offer these services out, but he should...I'm pretty sure it would be very competitive when compared to local shops. Woohoo for purty engine bays :wiggle:
The flat black is a ceramic powder mix and good for 1000 degree constant. I've shot quite a few exhaust manifolds, headers and two blown dragbikes without a single problem. The bikes have two seasons each and look as fresh as the day I shot them. It's all in the prep before coating that makes the difference.
we were working on it outside late last night and the lighting was so bad the camera couldn't pick up how good it actually looked. I'll try and get out there today while it's still daylight and see if I can't get some good ones
Could have had the same, but noooo. I hope you took my advice and put a quick coat of clear satin on the TGV's.
Have access to a 8'Hx12'Wx20'L oven to do it in. The only draw back is that my fiberglass would ignite
Good question, curious as well. Even though I have yet to install my EGT, I was under the impression that cruising temps are somewhere around ~1400F 'ish ?
You may see those temps at the first bend of the exhaust manifold or header but drops from there. Now if your running 30psi at 9K rpm for 500 miles you may see hotter constant temps but for most applications in regards to cars on this forum, if your hitting that high of temp, you better be prepared to buy new pistons and turbo.
