Hey guys, I've been looking for a good (cheap) car to track and just happened to pick it up from a good friend at the right time. Pretty much the engine has been swapped with a vanos m50, and just too much to list has been replaced. Engine has about 150k (new gaskets) and chassis has about 230k miles. So far, I'm in love. I've only had it for 2 days, but damn this thing kicks ass. :)
Plans are pretty much standard track fare: rollcage, brakes, etc.

    Nice, nice, nice E30!!

    I used to have a little white 1985 325e, and although it wasn't a
track monster it was a great driving car. I would have kept it
longer if some lady didn't decide to t-bone it at an intersection.

Looks VERY nice. Still my favorite body for some reason. Don't get me wrong, the new M3 with the V8 is amazing, but I've always been partial to the E30. Nice find.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

I'd like to finish the season in the STi, and then we'll see from there.

    Thanks!

Just a quick update. Now has kirk racing 4-point cage, schroth ralleye harnesses, ANOTHER set of kosei's (up to 3 sets on 2 vehicles now), Hawk ht-10 pads, and some Nitto NT01's. Alot of minor problems have been fixed, car is partially stripped. Only plans left are some brake ducts and fully stripping it. Maybe some fixed back seats. I'll take much better pictures soon.

Great choice of car! Looks awesome. I have helped build quite a few E30 track cars and they are awesome.

Sweet, the Spec E30 class is a great class, I don't know if you intend on going that far with it but if you do I would be interested in renting a seat in some enduro races.

    Hey dude,

Yes, I'm aware I'm responding to a month old thread. I haven't been around much because I also just purchased an e30 to be a track car. Was actually driving it at the same PDX, now I wish I had walked around & mingled more. If you saw the white beater with the tan door in C group, you saw me. Zero mods at the moment, but hope to start converting it to spec e30 as I get funds. Like tires. Dear god how can tires be so hard... it's like they're made of cement. ;P

Anyway, just wierd to see another e30 on a Subaru board. Thought I'd say hello. Okay, back to lurking. ;)

    -Chris!
