? hope that's not your planned driving route...i knew you were going to have traction issues, but damn...
HAHA that was from a track day a year or so ago. I shouldn't have kept the gps logger in my pocket. Next time I'll mount it on top of the car What is neat about this picture is the satellite image is of the old track before the addition of the long back straight. Actually it still hasn't been updated on google http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...773,-85.999861&spn=0.006477,0.009828&t=h&z=17
C'mon people. Two more slots. This is going to be one epic track day. Two v8 miatas. Two sick monster vettes probably 600-700+ WHP. (google Reese Cox/MTI) Two beamers - one M3 and another setup nicely for track. A limited STI, a speed6, and an s2k. Siegel, Matt, and Traqmate will be there I'm going to shutdown my business for the day. The guys will be at the track. The ladies will be at the spa. It's going to be a blast.
I'll be adding a gtc-200 wing and r6's. At this level lots of it will weigh on driver skill. I'm going to be all over the track in the miata
Scott is offering some instructor seat time for an additional $50 per person. He can't justify coming out unless we make it worth his while. He is an instructor and tuner So we need at least 4 people to commit and that will bring Scott out on the track.
I just installed the wing ordered from zenmotorsports on the spare trunk. I personally think wings (especially big ones) are the gaudiest things ever and spoils a classic cars like the miata. However, I have a stock miata to keep stock and a v8 ls6 monster to spiffy up. Given the monstrosity of my project miata I think it's appropriate
Ron @trackmate just signed up - he'll have his spec miata. One more spot and it's $150 instead of $200 per driver. Then I won't have to collect at the gate. Call all your track-head buddies. Take a day off work and have a blast. Theres probably enough time on the track for everyone to get a ride in my miata
Wow what a crazy day. The ls6 miata is going to make it tomorrow. Lots of last minutes things that threatened not being able to make it. Since I'm not sure where everyone is coming from and how long the drive is it for everyone. Let's NOT caravan from mcd's. Let's just meet at the track 8am CST which is 9am atlanta time. Typical drive time is 1.5 hours. So if you leave at 7am atlanta time you'll be ok. (Thats when I'm rolling out) Address is: 46 Pilgrim Lane, Munford, Alabama 36268 google map link http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...,-85.341797&spn=2.370263,4.938354&z=8&iwloc=A See you there
fyi - a group of us (probably 3-4 cars) are still planning on meeting for breakfast and rolling out of the mcd's...can't break tradition you'll see us...we'll be in a limited and have a couple bad ass vettes with us...and i'll be doing a few third gear pulls on i-20 to make sure the avc-r is dialed in
What a great track day! There were some pretty mean cars on track with plenty of track time for everyone. Thanks to everyone who came out! Here are a couple of my pictures Yeah my ride height was whacked. But she still ran pretty well. Everything was throw together just in-time for track. Wednesday morning I didn't even know if it was going to make it! I've also got some video - it's still uploading http://chows.smugmug.com/gallery/8689054_SKZkh#574223186_tMm6P the first part was me around the carousel, the next half was the sick supercharged comaro. it was LOUD! here is an HD video with a camera attached to the hardtop http://chows.smugmug.com/gallery/8689054_SKZkh#574312783_AWeKb
It was an interesting day for sure. Jacks Z06 was pretty nuts around that track. At 6\10ths it went a pretty easy 1:10 on street tires, I would say that if I wasn't scared of going off in it or if we had gotten Reese to drive it, it would have gone sub 1:05. Both of the V8 Miatas looked really good, Davids car is even nicer looking in person than it is in the pictures. Matt
