I have just recently switched to cobbs ap v1 stage 1. "260HP (+15%) / 260lb-ft (+20%)" I did notice a little bit of a difference but when reading the notes of what i should expect i noticed it said "Boost Targets: ~14.7psi +/- 0.5psi peak boost pressure tapering down to ~12psi". There is also a link to "how subaru's factory boost controller works" if you are not achieving this correct amount. I was wondering if anyone has read this and if modifying the restrictor pill in the vacuum hose was a good/bad idea.

    http://www.cobbforums.com/forums/images/HowSubaruFactoryBoostControlSystemWorksv109.pdf

    they "recommend" doing it...

i noticed alex made a post about this awhile back but no one really commented on it.

I'm guessing you're not hitting target boost?

If you are I wouldn't mess with it.

Think you might have misread that. Here is a quote taken from the above referenced document form Cobb

"If you have a stock turbo and are running an AccessPORT map, you have no reason to modify your restrictor pill."

Factory I was hitting 14.7psi on my 02. No reason you shouldn't be. That is 1bar if you have the factory boost gauge.

The heat can effect your boost. When its as hot and humid as it gets in Georgia it can effect it. Its the same with how you can get overboosts when its really cold.

How much are you getting? If it's within 1 PSI, I would think its just the 90+ degree weather.

The factory steering wheel mounted boost gauge reads in bar.

Nah, that is 1 bar or 14.7psi. You are good. At least I think so.

I thought the stock gauge read in MPa (Megapaxels?).. Similar to bar, but not...
