sweet, more revenue generation in the form of hidden driver taxes

"take back our highway" ? what a joke. take it back from whom? last I checked the taxpayers owned them. at least be truthful in your silly fleecing of the public.

"operation bend me over and take my money for silly bullshit because the local governments can't reign in their spending" just doesn't have the same ring to it

Nothing new here in Roswell this is how they make payroll. The irony is every time some ass hat in a VTEC with a ricer exhaust wants to race and I can't get him away from my car not a cop for miles.
I do not speed, race and I obey every traffic law known to man. No license here = move out of town.
Thanks for the heads up though, I put the HKS silencer plug in to make my car less of a cop magnet.

My friend's grandfather is second in command with them . They are a religious cult actually. I do support their take on keeping the Government out of peoples affars though.

That is amazing DUI's are like a pot of gold for local municipalities! You are right despite the horror of a DUI people still try to play their luck. My girlfriend and I neither of us drink anymore, were sitting outside in downtown Roswell and there were a group of younger folks drinking at an outdoor restaurant /bar patio. We sat there for an hour and the waitress must have come out about five times (they probably had been there for a while as well), in other words they were slamming drinks, even with the Roswell PD driving laps around the block towards closing. One by one they left in vehicles, just amazing.

I can't say it any better than nicad's already said it.
If you live in Cobb like Matt and I - watch out, they're particularly nasty. :unamused:

Yeah, Cobb has been all over the place. I have seen more GSP and Cobb Co. Police doing speed traps in the last 2-3 week than I had in the previous 2-3 years. I have seen tons of cops up in Bartow as well. I have seen more up there than I have seen in a long time. They are using new spots up there, too. Places that used to be safe and never had speed traps now have speed traps.

I am very glad that I have slowed down and never run over 70 mph. I try to never do more than 5 over and never go faster than 70(even in a 70 zone). If I do go over 70 it is me not paying attention or passing someone i don't feel safe following.

I have been good and lucky. I have not had a ticket since Jan. of 2003 and I intend to keep it that way.

2 drinks in an hour, 3 if your a fat ass with or without a meal. 1st thing they teach you in risk reduction. Oh and just to make it more interesting if they catch you with any THC or any controlled substance even prescription meds in your system, nothing to do with .08 but any you are done, since it is an illegal substance fyi for those who partake. If it is a prescription drug there is a warning on the bottle that you should not drive. All they need is probable cause like they pull you over for tag light and your slow to respond and your eyes are bloodshot, field sobriety and then haul your ass in.

Oh and BAC does not mean shit Sherlock, if the driver has a blood alcohol content (BAC) reading somewhat lower than .08%, but also showed signs of impairment. The “legal limit” is simply the number above which a driver is automatically guilty of driving under the influence (or some related statute) without any other evidence. However, many states also allow for DUI charges and conviction when a driver has a slightly lower BAC reading but also fails field sobriety tests, drives erratically, or otherwise shows signs of being impaired. Completely up to the cop.

Happened to my buddy. He blew under and passed the field test, they arrested him took him in made him blow in the station and he was under. He was very cooperative so the cop gave him a break. He still had to pay for the tow and get his car out of impound. He also had to pay for an alignment since the wrecker was an A-hole. You get taken in and you drive a Suby you better fkin hope that the city uses flatbeds. He spent most of the day in the station and had to wait until the next day to get his car out.

To answer your question I don't need no BAC meter to realize I live in a police state and the second you put any controlled substance in your body and drive you are rolling the dice not only are you an arrest waiting to happen you are a cash cow for whatever city you are cought in. If they catch you, you are fucked, end of story!

Great........ this should be a fun weekend. Honestly if I get stopped at one of the check points, Im gonna be a little difficult, I think its fucking stupied my tax dollars couldnt be spent doint something more productive than putting ever damn officer on the street for 7 days just to check for licenses and conduct speed traps.

Any career criminal with half a brain will be fully aware of the shift of manpower and most likely take full advantage of the situation, while you the taxpayer will be under extreme police scrutiny and all you are trying to do is abide by the law, make an honest living and take care of your family. If this was a true democracy people would come together and demand an explanation since the streets do not belong to the police they belong to the tax paying citizen and it is law enforcements job to protect us not harass us. Never has the abbreviation WTF been more appropriate!

I live in Canton and I do not believe there is a better example of a waste of money. The Canton police department has nothing better to do then pull vehicles over to just check license and insurance and try and catch you for anything and everything. They are now known for giving speeding tickets for just 5 mph over the speed limit. Im sorry but when i drive by and see 4 cops sitting at a speed trap I laugh. The police have lost my respect and trust...

Hah, this thread makes me .

Try living downtown in the crime hotspot right now. Then you can call me and complain about police activity :)

you mean where this is real crime? I don't think anyone would complain about increased police activity there, except for the criminals

I am sure they don't have the luxury of sitting in parking lots, road sides and embankments all day LOL. Maybe there should be a tri-state effort to help out the Atlanta cops in crime ridden areas like down town Atlanta and parts of DeKalb, where they would be quite literally taking back the streets.

I just got a ticket in dekalb for unregistered vehicle. :(
The lady was really mean looking (and sounding). She could have passed for a man.

I had evidence with me that I was on the way from a shop, specifically getting emissions fixed. She didn't care.
