Ive had invidia exhaust on my car, than sold it. Im running stock now. Now i am in market for new exhaust. My question is, do i spend 400+ on some good name brand exhaust again, or just buy one of the ebay catbacks from ebay for under 200. I am not cheap, i can afford, but to me exhaust is just letting air coming from point A to point B. Anyone wana explain what advantages and disadvantages i might have if i go with ebay exhaust.

Ebay exhausts simply tend to be louder and you lose the bling factor. They also may flow a little less efficiently but at mostly stock power levels that not that much of an issue.

Just the answer i was looking for. I just ordered an Catback exhaust for $2xx.xx. It comes with DP. I probably wont use the DP. And it comes with gaskets. cant beat that.

That is what we refer to as a "turboback exhaust." If you have a 2.0 on the stock turbo you can pop the DP on without hurting the car and see a little more power.

I would spend a little more on the downpipe but some ebay cat-back sections is not the standard length with their unique length of downpipe

I've personally seen those gaskets fall apart the day after they were installed. you need to order some OEM gaskets.

A lot of the Ebay exhaust are bad for droning at highway speeds.

Personally I LOVE the Maddad twin tip exhaust. They sound so good, are not obnoxiously loud and don't drone a bit and have that stockish sleeper look to them.

I've noticed that for the 2L WRX, a 3" is exhaust is too big with the stock turbo even at stage 2. Its really laggy and the low end sucks. I would rather have a 2.5" straight as possible exhaust setup. +1 for not buying garbage on ebay.

i had/have the ebay full exhaust on my old wrx. if i had to do it again, i wouldn't the fitment is horrrible and had to be rigged to hell and back to fit. it doesn't leak and does its job, but doesn't really look all that great imo.
