    TopSpeed Time Attack

    @Talladega Gran Prix - Saturday October 3rd www.tgprace.com

That’s right, no excuses. A *PROPERLY TIMED* “local” Time Attack, WITH CASH PAYOUTS. We will have AMB transponders for all Time Attack competing cars. We may even have Traqmate GPS Data Acquisition with in-car video for the fastest in each class. Winners of each class will receive at least $200 in cash*

Pre-registration will be a very affordable $125 for all HPDE entrants. Those that want to compete in the Time Attack portion will have a $40 transponder rental fee. Pre-registration ends 48 hours before the event and late registration is $35 more.

There will be 5 simple classes:

There will be 5 simple classes:

Small Bore – Anything under 2.5 liters naturally aspirated (has current registration), tire tread-wear over 140.**

Street – Anything street-legal (has current registration), tire tread-wear over 140.**

Prepped – Anything street-legal (has current registration) on a DOT tire*
*NEW RULE* - Shop cars with FULL interiors, on Street Tires (over 140 treadware), that have current registration can run Prepped.

Race – Anything on race rubber that’s not a shop car.**

Shop Car – Anything goes. Seriously, anything.

**Anything that is obviously sponsored by a shop is considered a shop car. Even Doug’s DD street-tired ’08 STi is considered a shop car.

Spectators / car show - Don’t wanna race but wanna come watch - $10 per spectator $20 per vehicle of spectators. So if you’re broke, pile in and split the costs. (this keeps from having too many cars inside the track)

Shops – Come show what you’ve got. Shop cars not eligible for payouts, BUT, free 10x10 booth space per Time Attack entered Shop Car. Shops just wanting space and not entering can rent space – contact us for details.

Students – If there is enough interest shown with pre-registered HPDE entrants that indicate a desire for instruction, we might roll out some instructors.

Extras - We will have Brian from JRZ giving a seminar on suspension and chassis setup during lunch. We will also have Robbie Harper from Big South Series with some long-track karts on display.

*Payouts contingent on at least 5 cars in class and 30 total entered cars. Details subject to change without notice.

Where is the time attack taking place?

I already own an AMB transponder from bicycle races. Will that work?

Yup all fixed.. should run mid 63's to low 62's now. Not sure if I am going to run the car at all, since it gets classed in "shop" but we will see.

    http://www.bmwccaofest.org/

It's a big/national BMWCCA meet they do every year; this year they are doing it at Road Atlanta. There is a BMWCCA club race during the weekend, Brian is going to help crew for a friend so I decided to do the two day HDPE since I'll be there all weekend. Rumor has it that Bstone will be bringing out their rig to the event as well. It's too bad because I'm very tempted to bring out the Civic for the "small bore" class... all 114 hp of it :)

First you live in another state practically, but it is a bad ass shop.

Really I hope to do alot of stuff once she is down, FM that is collecting dust, clutch, maybe 2.5, kind of depends on how much I keep blowing on the coupe.

I am in on this thing one way or another even if I have to come lay a spanking on you guys in my wife's Z71 Tahoe. ;)

I may have to come to this just to watch, seeing as none of my cars are faster than 18 secs in the 1320, I doubt they would be very competitive at this either, lol!

Is this a fully open event? Can we spread the word?
