I have the GT35r kit for my car. But I have to build the oil and water feed lines. Any one know 100% what size lines I need for each and what size the fittings going into the turbo are? I know the line sizes matter as Perrin's old kit use to cause smoking issues due to improper (too much I think) oil flow.
The much flow is because the Garrett BB Turbo's require very little oil since the oil is only being used for lubrication and not to cool the turbo. You can buy a reducer made for the BB turbos from ATP. http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/m...tp&Product_Code=ATP-OIL-036&Category_Code=BCS They also make one for a -4 line.
you need to buy the reducer for your turbo. -3 or -4 line will be fine water lines need to be -6 or -8
So if I get -4 line I need to get the reducer also? Or use just the line? The simpler the better. Oh and what length would I need for each? Any ideas the sizes of the fittings that go onto the turbo itself? Thanks.
You still need the reducer. You only need a pinhole size oil feed for the turbo. You can buy the fitting that goes on the turbo from ATP as well. Or you can call the anti christ Matt and I am sure he can sell you everything you need for less than anyone else. You two might actually have to agree on something though.
Do what? I just bought something from Matt and met him Wednesday to pick it up FYI.:unamused: We are cool now
you have to install the turbo then measure for the lines, that turbo sits in a different location than most
what fittings are needed for the oil supply off the block? I think if memory serves me right that the coolant is coming off the reservoir up top so it's good to go.
DOH! It is a metric banjo fitting but don't remember off the top of my head which metric bnjo fitting it is. PM Matt and he should know.
Its a 12mm banjo. Now next question. If I use a -3AN SS feed line do I even need a restrictor at all?
Okay cool. So 24" Braided line with male open end -4AN on one end and 12mm banjo on the other. Get the -4AN to -3AN restrictor. Restrictor goes to turbo, male end of line into top of restritor and banjo to head. Now for coolant lines what do you guys do? Use a barbed fitting and clamp? Also what size is the oil return line?
No, you just need the GT series -4AN restrictor. This does not taper down to a -3AN. They also have a -3AN restrictor for people using -3an lines.
Ah gotcha. Now just got to figure out the coolant and oil return dealio. Are you barbing into the stock lines?
