WRXatlanta.com Tuesday Night Dinner Meets, Part V. What is it? Every other Tuesday of each month the guys and gals of the WRXAtlanta community meet a specified Restaurant at a pre-determined meeting time. Most meets begin in the parking lot / parking deck with hoods popped and small talk. Once the majority of members show up, the crowd moves inside for drinks, dinner and fun. Why should I come? Simple, meet other members of our community. These meets are always a blast for both old and new members. The laid back dinner atmosphere allows new members to catch up with old guys in a relaxed way (usually over drinks). If you are a new member the dinner meets are a great opportunity to learn more about your Subaru, talk shop and chill. Location, location, location! We try and plan each dinner meet at a location convenient to the community. Locations tend to vary as the member base is spread out throughout the city of Atlanta. We try to balance out the masses by hosting meets on the Northside, Westside, Eastside and downtown. We need your help to plan these meets! Please post in this thread with location and suggestions of your favorite restaurants. Remember that these restaurants need to accommodate at least 10 people (parking, seating, etc). Odds are the restaurant that you like to take your significant other too is NOT the place that you want to invite the club Hey, wait I work at (blahblahblah) restaurant, I can hook it up! Awesome. We all like discounts, free drinks (the best) and free food. If you or someone you know works at a restaurant and may be able to help out for the dinner meets with some special treatment please post up! We look forward to seeing everyone out at this next round. Post up and lets get the suggestion ball rolling! Thanks,
one Savannah area roadtrip Tuesday meet?? I work at a scenic seafood restaurant down here but it's not really a Subaru friendly place (kinda upscalish). Just a thought, lol. Otherwise I am obviously gonna try to get up to a few of these meets. I think it would be a neat experience to maybe do a "round the world" type deal. So the community could benefit from experiencing cuisine and beers from around the world. I.e. One set of Tuesdays would be at a local Italian/pizza place, next time would be Mexican, next would be American, next would be Greek, next would be Japanese/Korean/Chinese, and so on and so forth. Kinda mixed it up well last time but it was just a neat thought.
I vote for some form of mongolian BBQ place, or maybe a pho place. also, need more BBQ places. I'm getting sick of chain bullshit
thank you so much for the help with this, Alex. You are a true friend. We really need one major thing to make these as successful as they once were. Participation. I thank the CORE group that comes to each and every event, and the group that make it to 90% of them. In my opinion, it's more fun when we have more and more people coming out. If you haven't been to one yet, I highly suggest coming out! We do so much more than sit in a parking lot, talking about our rides and whatnot. This is an actual meet where we have dinner and all around good times! So, let's make round 5 the most successful! Give us your input for locations and more importantly, come out to the locations as well!!
How about Cho Won in Duluth? It is the all you can eat Korean BBQ place. I don't recall how much it was though. I think it might be a little pricey.
How about Big Pie in the Sky in Kennesaw? http://www.bigpieinthesky.com/ Would be lots of fun to try and take down one of their 30" pizzas. Also, they have $2 tuesdays, all domestic beers are 2 bucks!
My friend owns a home style cooking restaraunt in cumming. It is a drive for most ppl though. I second big pie in the sky. Though i probably wont come out to that one either unless matt brings hookers
hey everyone I just got my Subbie a couple weeks ago, ready to meet everyone! Can I suggest Bento's off Jimmy Carter, authetic Taiwanese food and bubble tea, reasonable prices too! But let me know when the next meet is!
Mmm bubble tea, now that's something I haven't had in a while. Big Pie is a great idea, do they accept reservations? What's the parking situation like?
big pie doesnt do reservations as far as i know. but they would probly appreciate a call ahead. and yeah thats a great idea. right down the street from my house up there! its a little small. but i would assume the same crowd as usual so they should be able to accomodate...
plenty of parking at big pie. not sure of the crowd on a week night, but I don't think it would be too bad
I sent a quick email to Big Pie asking if they do anything for larger groups. Will update when/if they respond.
I dont know everyone's price range, but since someone suggested Chowon, what about Nori Nori in Sandy Springs, big parking lot and all you can eat Sushi.
hey you leave them out of this! Lol Actually I got into a little tiff with one of them online. They were showing the DSG no respect. Then it got into how they can’t drive and Auto crossing is awesome ect, Ect. I might be the only jazz affectionato in the car community
KC Pit BBQ on Roswell Rd near 285 is pretty damn tasty from what I remember. I know they moved to a new location, so I would imagine parking has improved.
to my beer snobs, have you been to the brick store in downtown decatur? http://www.brickstorepub.com/
Wirelessly posted (From Your Mom's House) awesome place...just no parking and we would never ger a table.
How about for BBQ: BBQ Fox Bros BBQ over in my hood over on Dekalb Ave Or Six Feet Under is good shit! The Glenwood/Gravity Pub if we could park (in E Atlanta V) Pizza: Everybody's Pizza is the shit
Six feet under is awesome! Plus there's a parking deck close by where people park at to go to restaurants, so plenty of parking.
Wirelessly posted Seating at 6 feet is a royal pain. I'll give them a call and ask about what it takes to seat 10 on the top patio
figo is decent and inexpensive. There's one right next door to the corner pub which we have been to in the past and isn't bad either
