hnoes:Ok, I'm hearing this slapping sound when I'm going slow and turning right after I've ran the car for a while. This is especially evident in parking lots. At times it feels almost herky jerky like the wheels are not turning at the same time. Not sure how to describe this accurately. I had the clutch and flywheel changed about 8k ago and it is making all sorts of noise but I know what that is. My main concern is that when they took the axles down it might have screwed something up. Any suggestions?
CV to me as well. Look under the hood for CV grease slung all over the place. (assuming it's the inner CV boot).
Definitely seems like a potential axle issue. Is the ABS light coming on? Double check to make sure the ABS lines in the front are properly torqued down. You can do this while you are looking for tears in the boots.
If the ABS lines are not properly torqued (or left unattached) the center diff acts unhappy. It is more than likely the ideas mentioned earlier in the thread as there is no reason why the shop should/would have touched the ABS lines.
I was thinking CV shaft; so most likely is what it is. That right front has taken some hell over the years, lol. I was just getting your opinions before I decided to get under there again. Thanks
Well, Alex just assumes everyone should have an STi, honest mistake I should have waited another year before I bought mine
