2009 Petit Le Mans September 23rd through the 26th First and foremost, I do not care what you read or may read in other threads. If it is not explicitly stated in this then it must be treated with extreme caution as it may threaten your chances of having a hell of a good time at the event. It has since been replaced, but here is a snap of the original one...may she rest in peace. Equipment / Stuff for comfort At this point in time we have deemed the following as necessary equipment or items for general comfort (for a pleasurable experience at the event). These are in no particular order of importance. Propane Grill (Camping style preferred) Extra propane for grill Grilling utensils (or a titanium spork as some MacGyvers of the grill prefer) Trash Bags Plates, paper towels, plastic utensils Camping chairs (bring your own or sit on the tarmac) EZ Up Tent(s) to protect 2pt5RS' head One will be provided by WRXAtlanta / JPM Coolers (the more the merrier) Ice...and we mean a TON of ice Solo cups or equivalent Food, known colloquially in some countries as "comida" This section is pretty darn important. Once again the following list is in no order of importance. As it stands, we are considering asking members who plan to stay for a while at the RV to bring certain items from the above list as well as the list below. Hamburgers & Buns Hotdogs & Buns Bratwurst & Burns Condiments Katsup, mustard, mayo (if you swing that way), relish, etc Water (bottled, 24 pack x 4) Beer (several cases, no miller products allowed) Snacks such as chips, nuts, etc There is much more information to come soon. Stay tuned and please POST if you plan to hang out at HQ and partake in the food, beverage and overall antics. See you there :wavey:
I'm checking at work on my availability. if I come, I'll be making pulled pork. probably 20 lbs or so. there was also talk of bringing PS3/computer and my game chair/wheel combo (and wagunz_pwns stuff) and having some heads up racing on a projector. I need to make some phone calls and see if this can happen
I plan to be there Friday after I work a 1/2 day. I have to bolt in the wee hours as I coach T ball the rest of that weekend.
i had planned on finally making it this year, but alas the only job i currently have is only wed-sat 5pm-10pm. *sigh* maybe next year.
i dont work for my mom. work at a restaurant down the street, those are the only nights they are open
I'll be there later in the day Thursday, and I'll try to swing by the area where all of you Subie people are hanging out well before the weekend is over. I'm pretty self reliant in terms of my alcoholic source, but I'll be glad to share. Likewise, I might bring some brats (food... not annoying children) with me if anyone wants some. As I mentioned in the other thread, I'll be with with a small group near the woods at the bottom of the esses (where that ridiculously large Mazda corral was last year). If any of you see a blue wagon with gray wheels, feel free to give a yell or stop and have a few.
we'll be in the same locale we were in last year when you stopped by! Well....actually about 3 or 4 spots closer to turn 7
i'm out of a town again this year, maybe next year you guys have fun and i'll be looking forward to see some pictures
Awww, c'mon. This is nothing that a wetsuit and some scuba gear won't fix! Seriously, though, I'm strangely enthused by the idea of some rain. I go to the 24 hrs. of Daytona every year (where it seems to always rains at least once during the race), and some of the best, edge of the seat racing encounters you see are in the middle of downpours. Every Petite that I've seen so far has been dry. A good chair, an umbrella, and a beer will have you forgetting about any weather related discomfort in no time. I just hope it doesn't get so bad that the race itself is shortened or canceled.
I agree with Mike.... If it's raining like it is now, I will still go, but I doubt that I'll stay the whole time.
you guys are pussies. you know they have things called shelter, and you don't actually have to get wet and watch the race, right? besides, I just promised some guy at work I'd suck his dick so I could get off work and come (edit: this sentence turned out much funnier than intended) :unamused:
quoted...just because. It's funny how this pic is becoming more relevent as we keep getting pissed on.
Depending on how much stuff I get unpacked and the rain I might come out on Sat Ive always wanted to go
I will be there on saturday Atlanta pipe Band "Great Highland Bagpipes and drums" will be playing at turn 1 ithink for the opening. Im recording video.
just got an email from Road Atlanta. They are making extra precautions to ensure this will still be a successful event! So...no one can back out now!
I'd love to go on Sunday and meet some of you guys. Is it out of the question to park with the group if I show up on Sunday morning?
im off this saturday. think i have a ticket to the UGA game. someone come pick me up and bring me to petit then the game
bumpity bump. I finally ordered my ticket. I'm going shopping this afternoon. I'll update the first post with what I pickup.
Hey guys, just joined the forums by a reference from Nasioc. Me and a buddy are driving in from Louisiana Thursday night to get there in the morning on Friday rain or shine! look forward to meeting some of the local subi guys.
