impressive little cars. my workout partner has one that made 650whp on the stock bottom end..he drove it that way for months before putting a stroked 2.5 in it. now it makes 700+whp and runs 9's.
The rear diff and axles are the first thing to go on an S2k.... I doubt that car has a stock diff anymore.
meredith is correct. inline pro built the car and its "bullet proof tranny" which has gone out several times along with the rear end.. all the bugs have been worked out now though. it ran a 9.8 @ 149. inline pro still has the car trying to get more power. he wants it to be as fast as their shop car.
if you lower the car then it puts a strain on the rear axles... otherwise they are pretty fun cars... they sound amazing and have a great powerband..... Vtec Yo!
S2K can be functional, you just have to know how to work it We have one at the shop and have done many things with it including transport that you wouldnt expect. Convertibles teach you how to pack efficiently
You have to rev the hell out of it to get any power on an NA s2k. It's still an absolute blast to drive though. Just keep it in the 6-9k RPM range I love mine.
^^ Coming from V8's, it took me forever to get used to the STI... I would wince everytime rpm's got about 5k. I can't imagine having to get used to 8 or 9k... That motor has to sound like its gonna explode.
They are fun as hell to drive. They have a small cabin, which can be good or bad. Be careful not to overrev.
