how does it wear? the leather on my wheel is smoothing out and is definitely showing sings of use. it's a 2005, so it been 4 years. my wedding ring is also creating marks on the leather. is it more durable then leather? or at least equal quality?

I LOVE IT! That stitching is sick too! I wish I could have an alcantara wheel but my hands sweat too much.

    VERY nice!

I'll be honest... I always chuckle a bit when I hear the term "genuine alcantara" because it is a man made material; it's a bit like bragging about the idea of "genuine pleather."

Regardless, it looks awesome, feels awesome, and does its job better than suede ever could.

I guess by now I should be used to the idea of lauding synthetic materials. Everyone loves carbon fiber, but it is entirely man made, right?

I'm rambling after a night of drinking... but this did catch my eye. I just wish I could afford to have ya'll make this my steering wheel, as well as cover my headliner and seat centers in the stuff.

    Absolutely beautiful.

I like that a lot. Very classy.

Alex. Give me a call. I want a price quote on a headliner.

I wish someone could figure out a way to put the VW MK4 R32 steering wheel in a Suby. That would be awesome. It is the only thing I miss about my old VW. It's very fat in your hands..unlike the whimpy STi wheel.

Actually it makes alot of sense.

The Blue STi front seats and the IS300 seats are Escaine , not Alcantara. Two different products.

Genuine Alcantara tells me I'm not buying Escaine products.

Thanks. I use the word Genuine because Alcantara is frequently imitated by lesser manufacturers with lesser quality materials. Buying Genuine or "True" Alcantara material means you are getting the best that is out there for your project.

I will do so tomorrow, as I am about to head home for the day. Which vehicle is this for?

What do you mean? Anyway to have the controls work on the Subaru?

You could consider drilling out the current spline'd insert and replacing it with one from a Subaru wheel. Not really sure how else to make the wheel fit into the car. A functional airbag would be a pleasant addition as well and I am sure that would require some checking of the ol' wires.
