I have a 06sti had the stock tires for about 30k till I got a nail in em would rate them high for driving in summer spring and fall conditions they were spectacular on dry roads and pretty damn good in the wet. In all honesty I didn't think I could find a better tire till I through on the RE-11's. If it was possible to re-invent the wheel then they have. Bridgestone Potenza re-11's are superb, Now I live in Washington State where unlike ATL it rains in dumptrucks when it is dry the roads are very hot because I happen to live in a desert. What I can tell you is the dry grip is identical to the 70's, in the wet is a whole new ball game. I don't know if it is possible to to get more traction in the wet rather then the dry pavement but I think Potenza has done just that. The car seems a great deal more alive in the rain, if anyone was looking for a replacement tire over the stock equipment the re-11's will throw down ace's all around. Lastly I get my tires from Tire Rack and the RE-70 goes for about 200/tire, the RE-11 183/tire in the end 68 bucks saved ain't too shabby for something that performs on par or better depending on your conditions.

Good review - I've got the RE01s that will be going on next, hopefully they'll perform in the same realm as those two tires

The RE01 is half a step down from the RE-11. The RE-11 was designed to replace the RE-01, which it did. I have tracked both sets of tires (street class) and can tell you firsthand the RE-11 has noticeably more grip to it. The RE-11 is the best street tire I have driven on to date. We recommend them to anyone who is looking for the best true street tire available ;)

I have the RE-01'r on my car now and I would give the same review as above. They are pricey, but worth it IMHO.

Mine are replacing Neovas, so they have pretty big shoes to fill

Neovas are great tires, but I still like the RE-11s more ;)

Yeah I had the re01rs and loved them in the wet as well as the dry. Potenza FTW!

the AD07 is definitely a better tire than the older RE-01. The RE-11 is a big step up from the RE-01 as well. I would say the RE-11 and AD08 (newer version) are very close in performance. I prefer the RE-11, but you really can't go wrong with either tire. They are priced almost exactly the same.

As a Bridgestone employee I will say that the re-11 is the best UHP street tire on the market (obviously no bias :)).

That being said, from what I understand, it really is getting top marks in industry reviews.

The RE-11 has more grip than the RE01 however the RE01 had better turn in than the RE11. Most people for national level solo had to run about 5 pounds more in the RE11 versus their RE01 setup. However the grip is awesome but it did take me a bit to adjust to the turn in of RE11. The RE11 IMHO is much better in the wet than the RE01.

I've driven the AD08s on brian's STX BMW and they are awesome as well but I like the RE11 better. Having driven the Toyo R1R, Dunlop Direzza, AD08 and the RE11, my favorite is the RE11, but I do admit I have not tried the new Hancook RS3 or Kumho MX and most likely won't do to bad experiences with both of those brands.

Wow, glad I just read your review...I thought I was going crazy for a little bit on the turn in on the RE01r. I love mine and I am so glad I was able to get them on sale earlier this year. I wish I had bought two sets now:(

I have the Hankook Ventus RS3's on my R34 right now and hate them. I'll be going with something else next go around. Unfortunately they don't make the RE-11s in a 285 so I'll likely be going with the AD08 next. Save yourself the trouble and take my word for it that the RS3 is nowhere in the ballpark of the RE-11 in terms of grip. I can't comment on the Kumho's yet.

Andy Hollis (Grassroot Motorsports tire testing guru) seems to think the RE11, RS3 and AD08 are in the same ball part. At Solo Nationals he ran the Hankooks on the front and the Yokos on the back (strange I know) of his ST Civic. However he has mixed resutls with the MX especially in different weather conditions (ie cold or hot days). Ian Steward and Peter Lier tested the MX on their one lap car and hated them, something to the effect that they got greasy and sloppy after awhile.

I have broken the RS3's loose without trying which was somewhat irritating. The RE11 and AD08s have always held up very nicely with no problems with grip. Maybe I just got a bad set :dunno I broke the RS3s loose taking a corner mildly getting onto the highway on 1 bar of boost. I have tracked the RE11 and AD08s hard and have not had that happen on 2 bar on the track, and definitely not on public roads driving mildly. I can only go based on my own personal experience.

I hated the RS2s so I dont think I'll ever try the RS3s :). I've tried to autox on RS2s with my S2000 and even my penskes could not make that car stop breaking loose.... I'm surprised that Bstone has not come out with largers sizes for the new cars like the GTR...
