The first few years were the toughest I think for my wife and I. Adjusting to your partner's needs/wants/habbits can be tough. Best of luck to the two of you....and I also agree with PED:)

I have a very nice kitchen and I don't allow her in there. She can't cook worth a sh*t so I do all the cooking. Plus she burnt one of my all-clad pots trying to boil water:(

Just remember: You're getting married, she's having a wedding... that day is all about her.

Where are you guys getting hitched? And where's the honeymoon?

Also get your finances in order. Dave Ramsey has some good guidance for newly weds, and get the total money makeover if you haven't already. Fights about money account for more than half of divorces.

Congrats man! Lot of good advice. Having been through a failed marriage, I walked away learning 2 things. Make sure she is the right one and you are getting married for the right reasons. Other than that, the little things seem to matter most and always keep open communications. Marriage is not easy! You both have to be committed to it.

BKiller is recommending a good book, I recommend reading it as well. It will truely helps with the things that Integroid was talking about.
"...Adjusting to your partner's needs/wants/habbits can be tough..."
Both of you should read the book, I am not much into reading but, that was one I was told I should read as well.

I dont care what everyone else saids, but marriage can be lots of fun, its all about what you make of it.

I wish you 2 best of luck, and congratulations!

I haven't read the thread, so someone may have already said this, but the best advice I think I can give is to not listen to Justin.

I suggest you focus on "communication" and being able to talk through and listen to each other w/o making judgement. Marital counseling works well for this, even thou it sounds lame its well worth it being able to equip with the tools talk "communicate" openly.

    bye bye car mods :)

    Congrats man.

That book is what our pastor had us read for our marriage counseling at the church. It is really cheesy, and has some horrible videos to go along with the book, but it really does help you understand how to relate to your spouse. We just had our one year anniversary on October 4th. Most of the good advice has already been given, so congratulations!

    Btw, Happy Honeymoon:ky::beer:

    dude, just stay cool.
be a man, know what's pushing her buttons and try to understand that even when you mean well, it might not come out so well.
it's truly a difficult path, but when your friends see how much fun you have with your wife, they understand what love means. it sure as shit doesn't mean giving up anything.
go slow King. and as someone else has said here, never go to bed angry.

It's all in what you make of it. Work together when things don't seem to work. It takes two to make a marriage. Both of you will have to give and take some. Trust me on that. Communication communication communication....that's the key here. Talk about anything and everything and don't hide a dang thing.

    Congrats again king.

That is the coolest groom's cake ever! Now I want to try making a WRX cake!! Too bad Travis and I didn't have the Subies when we got married. We had the OZ Rally and well, you can see what our friends did to it at our wedding in my signature pic below... we are still finding Easter grass and whoever owns that car is probably still finding it.

Congratulations to you and your new wife!!!
