  1. So its official I got laid off today, I knew it was bound to happen soon. They had been letting people go left and right all year. It was only a matter of time. So anyone who knows of something let me know, I got a house payment now.

FYI, dont ever work for Adtech Global Solutions, they are assholes!!!!!

Sucks to hear big time.... My company has finally started laying off recently as well, so everyone is nervous... I've been layed off before, just a a piece of advice. Don't burn any bridges(old job bashing included). You'd be surprised what a small world it is and how fast that could come back to haunt you. You also never know when a co-worker or boss at your old job might be able to help you out.. Just my .02

so you know i gotta ask...

since you knew it was coming all year, why weren't you looking for another job all year long?

but good luck. there are TONS of retail places hiring right now. mostly for seasonal, but that could lead to more...

  6. I didnt burn bridges, but I should have, as far as me name bashing, hell ya. I wouldnt take the job if they offered it to me again, just to much BS, and way to much stress. I always keep a good rep with my co-workers. They all feel the same way, I just happened to be one of the Highest paid techs in my department, so of course I would be the first to go.

I thought it went without saying. Yes I have been looking for jobs since April. The job market is just flooded in the IT world. There is so many of us without jobs. Kinda hard if you know what I mean. They can hire a dude with 12 years experience and a BA in IS for the same price as what I have been getting paid. Sucks, I just hope the economy picks back up, I would love to have a good paying job again. It has been since March 2008 since I had a good paying job.

Why not go work at some place like REI for the Christmas season?

REI already did their hiring for the seasonal staff. If you want a seasonal job I would suggest you find one quick before they're all gone as well. Sorry to hear about the job, hopefully the next one will be better

So I am sitting at DOL applying for unemployment and I gotta say, its a sad site, all these people who lost there jobs. Seriously there is a crap load of people here! Its crazy. You know I think they should make this an online process, all our surrounding states have. Much easier.

they are the most ridiculous things ever....Cobb County states they are a state required class, yet only a couple other counties do it. I did 3 of the 4 only b/c I got this job before the 4th one. They will cut your 'benefits' off with a QUICKNESS if you don't attend those classes.

  13. They just had me sit in one class, then filled out the application (which might I add is online, and has a external address but can only be accessed from internally, STUPID) which was pretty short honestly.

The funniest thing about all this is listening to everyone while you are filling out your application, who are not that computer literate, and end up screwing something up or loosing there app and have to do it all over again. Very amusing.

Maybe they make you show up in person to ensure that it is you in fact filing out the paperwork. Honestly, if you want the benefits you might as well do some work to get them :)

  17. I spend 5 hrs there... no fun

Well I rather spend time looking for jobs, I will sit in the lines, cause I have no choice, but honestly, there is a more efficient way of doing it, thats just my oppinion

Careful Clint, you'll end up like Jake and just float around on this site building up your post count and not look for a job at all
