Oh no man that wing is gone, belongs to a guy up north now. Just took awhile to get these pics, hence no lip and SYMS wing. :)

Finally getting around to updating this thing. My first step in the interior department, upgrading to the spec c, has been one of my all around favorite mods so far. I had hoped that the JDM seats would be supportive enough to make further development a non-issue, but in the end they are still stock and I am still rather thin. Now that the interior was black, I decided to run a simple bucket for myself. I knew that Bride Zeta III was super comfy but utterly impossible to get in and out of, a very undesirable aspect for my daily driver, a Recaro SPG however, I worried would be too large for me to fit in comfortably. After a lot of searching and some really random occurences, I ended up with an old school Bride Zeta II, brand new and complete with head cushion. As near as I can tell, this is the last one out there, and I'm glad to give it a good home.

I attempted the first photo shoot with the new camera a few days ago, and I'm fairly happy with the results. It would have been nice to have the car clean and to have done more than just pull out of the garage and on to the street but this was more playing around than a grand effort. Soon I will try to get it nice and clean, find an interesting setting and a little better light, which was random at best in all the trees.

It takes about a day to really feel comfortable with it, after that I've never gone back. Feels a bit odd with the stock knob though.

    I love those wheels.

That shift lever is a bit odd looking.

Don't smash your face on that new steering wheel!

So I was preparing to leave my apartment today and seconds before I opened the door I heard a nice deep thump and my car alarm going off. Inquisitive, I ran to the window only to see that a branch had broken from a dead tree behind the garage and fallen through the roof. I was braced for a pretty bad reality but thankfully the tree itself lodged in the rafters though the ceiling collapsed onto the car. After cleaning reasonably cleaning things up the paint is rather worse for wear, as is the roof but thankfully everything is intact and drivable. The front and rear glass are also scratched pretty badly and I seem to have lost a JDM rain visor as an innocent bystander. After all is said and done I'm extremely thankful to have not been in the garage a few seconds early when all this happened; insurance should take care of everything else. Tomorrow I should meet with an adjuster to work out the details. Though a temporary set back, and one not too long after I was rear-ended, I already am eager and excited to have the car back as well as the possibility for improvement. I would have never had the car outside of God providing it and accordingly I have joy in trouble knowing that He is in full control.

Everything has gone extremely well with insurance after the accident. Aside from all damages being covered, the entire car is going to receive a nice paint job. Some times I thought I would never see the day when I would be able to repaint the car, it has been a true testament to the fact that the Lord is good, in control, and can use any situation no matter how bad or inconvenient to bring about good. Additionally, with the damage to the roof needing a fair amount of metal and paint work, we will be proceeding into the repair throwing the whole thing out and replacing it with a carbon panel made for us by AMS. I am already anxious to drive the car after this, I can't imagine what it will feel like to cut almost 20 pounds of the car let alone of the highest point. The possibility of additional improvements is also on the table.

I wanted to do a shoot of the STi, a kind of "end of an era" feel has really been weighing on me. The car is shot in the country where I first drove alone, where all the light and openness gives this really great duality between warmth and high contrast. The title is borrowed from a poem by T.S. Eliot, and best captures the surreal feeling of possible reality I have been under. In a sense, this is to celebrate the car that ends and begins with the coming restructure.
