    Wirelessly posted

    Seconded

  4. I would have to agree as well. Great clutch, and very affordable as well. Give me a call if you want a hook up on the parts and install.

So how much should i be looing to pay for this bad boy?? Is it the sb4-xtss???

  6. yes, the ss is the one you want because its got a little bit more extreme pressure plate. Especially with your turbo kit.

PM me if you would like the hommie hookup price on parts and or install. :)

Yup, that would be the one. I would expect to pay in the $700 range for the kit.You could get the 6 puck sprung hub if price is concerend but the daily driveability decreases and it won't last long if you drive in traffic a lot.

Erhm, not really. The stock clutch disc is fairly inexpensive but it is "stock". I have a new, stock clutch disc and pressure plate for sale if you're interested.

If that pressure plate that Alex is talking about is the one he got from me....it is heavier than stock.

NP and it is the DK Pressure Plate.

I'm running the 6-puck sprung on my stock flywheel, I have no problems with it...to me, it's just fine for a DD, and the feel isn't much stiffer than stock

The feel will be the same between the two since it is the same PP. The disc is different and the full face will last longer and engage smoother than the 6 puck.

it's the HD PP, if that makes a difference...

As far as longevity, my car will only see a couple thousand miles a year, so it may not be suitable for a 20k / year car. The only change I noticed over stock was the engagement...it's like a light switch, there's no slippage at all

Yeah, if youa re going with the full face disc, I would get the xtreme PP. He will be making enough power to warrant that pp with the full face disc. If going with the 6 puck, you can get away with the HD PP. My 6puck disc is right at a year old and it is about shot. I also driv emy car in heavy traffic daily.

Heard nothing about exedy. Anyone out there running these. Looking into a twin disc. They are around 1300ish I think.

That's too much clutch in my opinion. An ACT 6 puck sprung is all the clutch you need.

^^^ It sure is alot of doe but i just want it to last!

I've read about many twin disks not lasting that long.

Just because it costs a lot doesn't always mean it is better ;)

  23. An twin is way overkill for your application, and alot of time they don't last as long as the ACT puck or street disk. anything under 500 I stay with single disk for sure.

Lucy (our race car) was almost 600hp and we had a 6 puck in her, worked great.

why is this still under discussion? Either get a 6 puck, or a street disc with a fucking 180lb clutch, or waste money on something else...

    seriously...

This subject has been discussed before and everyone I know will tell you to go with ACT with a 400+ hp car. This is even coming from someone that decided to try something different.....An ACT setup will be going back in my car when I swap out the motor in a few weeks.

With the power potential I would be more concerned about the motor exhaling parts with a new stout clutch behind it. I tend to think an organic clutch and maybe a stronger spring pressure would be the best bet till a fresh block and heads are installed. With 160K on the clock, I would be concerned on whether the bottom end could take the abuse of what everybody is recommending at this time. Of course what do I know, I just inhale NOS all day

Act Street Disc with Extreme PP.

I think Ben is running the Exedy. Ask him how he likes it. I ran the Exedy stage 1 on my car and the feel was very close to stock. Ghost I believe is running the 3 puck and it is quite grabby.

Yeah Mike is correct I have the stg4 Exedy 3 puck ceramic clutch on mine. Its very grabby but streetable. Ive gotten so used to it i can drive it like stock lol. I have about 30k miles on the clutch and it still grabbs like it was new.
