Going around the curve at Union Hill and lost control. Does anyone know of a good body shop? I think it can be fixed...Engine and components are fine.
Alpharetta/Cumming. the place where the car was towed to are saying that its totled but i dont think so i think it can be repaired. It drove straight with no problems, engine started with no problem.
Thanks man i hate to see it too. i'm praying that it will be able to be repaired. i dont want another car i want my beast back
If it is totaled, buy it back and fix it yourself. It really only looks like two doors, fender, bumper, and a little body work on the driver side.
it probly will be totaled. bugeyes arent valued at more than $9000 and insurance will usually total it out at 80% of the total value. so 80% of $9000 is $7200. so that could very well be more than $7200 in damage. my bugeye got hit in the drivers side front wheel/A-pillar and it was essentially totaled but luckily the adjuster didnt know what he was doing and the original estimate was less than 80%. they eventually paid out $12,200 on a $10,100 car. and it was less damage than that (slight frame damage, driver door driver fender lower control arm). you might get 'lucky' like me, but then again I'm still paying for that wreck 3 years later with a penalty on my parents policy. so my advice, if they say its totaled, total it and find something new. not worth the hassel
That sucks man. I would guess that based on the damage visible from your pictures, the car will definitely be totaled out. As said, if you don't want to let your car go, buy it back from Insurance when it is totaled, and repair yourself. Good Luck, and glad you are OK.
Glad you're ok!! What did you run into? Can't really tell what you hit from the pic, other than shrubs.
this^^ a pillar mostly EDIT: pic remember this was $10K in body damage and another (2200 for transmission)
i'm soooo hoping that its a margin of a few hundred that makes the difference. Mechanically, its still sound. I was able to start the car, drive with no problems. The wrecker was able to move it onto the flat bed with minimal effort too. I love that car man I hope they can do something.
Where is SSR? Is that the place that is near Verizon ampatheater? With the Porsche wrecked on the display out front?
Call Brandon at ALLPRO, I believe he has those doors, in that color... Actually...just called him...he does have it.
yup When I had my little fender bender the bill was $3200 I believe... only for new headlights, front bumper, and driverside fenders +paint.
? its exactly as it should be. meaning i shouldn't have to ask, because he should know better. but if i hadn't asked, im sure someone else would have....
Yep let it be totaled! Our Evo was in a huge wreck! The damage started at 16k and pogressive repaired it damage total.................... 24k! And yes we pay dearly for the sti and evo now!
The curve heading towards mcfarlane. there are two subdivisions immediatly after the curve i can't remember the name of the two. one on the right and left facing each other.
Brandon at AllPro has those two doors. I'm a big fan of Spray-Glo in Duluth, but ArtCraft is affiliated with the site somehow and I've seen their work - top-notch. Also, bummer. Glad everyone is alright.
Do we dare ask how fast you were going to loose control and do this much damage with some trees and shrubs? Looks more like you hit a wall at RA!
its not a matter of whether or not you can get it fixed cheaper elsewhere (not at this point anyways). if you go thru insurance at all you will be paying a penalty for at least 3yrs after if not longer. the more expensive it is, obviously the bigger penalty you're going to pay. you've already been dealing with insurance i guess, so that means you HAVE TO GET IT REPAIRED BY A SHOP especially if you have it financed. the bank won't allow you to NOT get it repaired by a certified shop. so let it be totaled
Depends on the insurance company, age, and driving record 10 years back as for paying a higher premium. Have a heart to heart with your agent as this will be two fold. You will find out your options and if you need to find another insurance company. Another option to consider is to buy the car back and part it out to recoup your loss.
Thanks everyone for the feed back. It sucks so bad too. I miss the pure HELL out of my wrx. The hardest part was going to get some stuff out of her this weekend and started her up and drove her a bit and she drove just fine. Where is SSR located?
Like Breel said you need to sit down with your insurance agent and see what the best route is especially if you have frame damage. Get some estimates so you know some actual dollar amounts and if it's worth fixing. SSR is in Alpharetta 5965 Highway 9 N, close to the intersection of McFarland and Atlanta Highway(Hwy 9). Just google their address or better yet call them. Allpro has those doors as RSConvert mentioned if you need them.
trust me u'll be glad in the long run. probly still pay a penalty, but it wont be nearly as bad as driving around a totaled car.
Could be an opportunity for a better car. See if you can by it buy it back to part it out. You may want to get a wrx wagon as your next Subaru the insurance from what I understand is allot cheaper.
They won't let me take anyof the parts off. The motor was perfectly fine on it too. I'm looking now for a 02-05 wrx but man they are hard to find.
