Are people using these to help get better camber adjustments? I lowered my Outback and would like to install these before I take it to GTE for an alignment. I am not doing caster/camber plates so this seems like the best alternative. Thoughts?
some use them in the rear. expect lots of people to tell you these aren't safe, will break, etc. hint: they don't know what they're talking about
IIRC the guys at GTE don't like aftermarket eccentric bolts. I've never really seen any issues with them, other than the nut freezing on the bolt.
Lots of people hate to adjust them and they also like to cite that the bolts slip over time. I am not entirely sure how this is possible if they're properly torqued. But hey, what do I know.
yeah i too have heard they are prone to slipping out of adjustment/alignment. other than that, i've used them in 2 of my previous cars with no problems
I'd say throw them on there. Just keep in mind that at some point they may slip. If they do, either readjust them, or pull them off then.
I ran them on the race car, as long as you dont re use them over and over they work just fine. Ones I have seen come loose are from guys constantly tightening them and then loosening them to make alignment changes.. over time the bolt itself stretches and looses its clamping load.
Yeah, I will go get them at Summit. (2 minutes from my work) They have the Eibach brand for under $20 a pair.
