I am looking in to getting a 3 angle valve job for my engine build. What kind of price sill I be looking at? I called one shop and they said around $300-$400. I will be calling another shop and see what they say. I know the guy that quoted me the price will do a good job. Is that a reasonable price?

Also what kind of gains am I looking at? Will it be an all around gain or will it be in a certain part of the RPM band?

If you ask a machinist you know, and trust about a 3 angle valve job, they will tell you its a bs money making thing. Factory valvejobs are of the "3angle nature". There are valve jobs for different things, turbo, supercharged, nitrous yadda yadda, and there are multiangle valvejobs that help as well. Best thing is Find a machine shop you trust, tell them your setup, and have them do the valves accordingly.

there are more factors than just how many angles a valve job is.

If your looking for performance upgrades, you won't get one from a three angle valve job., you have that from the factory. Theres more you can do as far as machine work goes, but most likely you wont see and improvement without supporting parts. But if your valves don't seal currently, then you will definatly see an improvement.
