Ped needed to get out of the house today, so he texted me this morning to see if anything was going on. I told him that I wanted to finish my bezel, and that was about it. We started by sanding down the top and bottom lip on the back of the bezel, where it was hitting the mount for my touchscreen. There is a slight lip around the entire thing, but it looks almost factory. Next, I wanted to mount my iPhone cable somewhere. Behind the ashtray seemed like a good place, so I filed down the plastic so my iPhone could sit flat and just slide into the plug. I used bondo to mount the plug so it doesn't move. I can still put the ashtray in when not in use, so no functionality was lost. We also mounted a 4 port USB Hub and Microphone in the two blank switch spots by the shifter.
Yes and No. The Mic runs through the Car PC. The front end I am running on it, Centrafuse has a phone application, so I have a bluetooth connection to the PC, and when a call comes in, it automatically mutes the music. The problem is with BlueSoliel. It doesn't have any noise cancellation, so when you speak, and it comes through the speakers, you hear yourself. By having the mic where it is, after I speak, I can cover the mic with my finger, and hopefully block out you hearing yourself. I am not using the mic for Voice Commands, yet. My interior is a mess. I need to vacuum it out big time. Yes, the screen issues are fixed. A couple months back, over at pEd's, we redid all my wiring, soldering connections which made a huge difference. I haven't had any screen issues in months, and it seems to be surviving the winter rather well. Last time, winter was what triggered all my problems starting. Same basic idea, yeah. How well does you mic work?
glad to see some productive work come out of you guys yet. Though I have to agree with Cohen and the ports will need a cover, you have shown truely "inovative " work for some retarded monkeys Now all you need is that Iphone ap we discussed at Topspeed.
It only happened because you didn't call. I was expecting to come down south to help with some fiberglass. Once I get my tax return and bonus check, pay off my credit card, and buy a Glock, the next purchase will be that Viper Alarm that I can control with my iPhone. I would think a vacuum over the USB ports every once in a while would be good. I don't know if I could judge based on yours because of the layout. Mine is flat with the ports facing up, so it will get much dirtier than yours, but I don't think it will be a problem.
sorry about that, I had second thoughts of having you coming down as you may sabotage my WRC body kit. I didn't leave the shop till 6:00am and with Sargent calling me at 9:30am totally forgot about calling you till I saw your post. Don't worry you didn't miss much, like watching dormant grass grow with it being so damn cold.
I'm too afraid that what you may have going on will get me in trouble that I can't get out of....:hsnono:
