Yes, but the Spec B axles are almost as strong as Chuck Norris

I hope you can keep the car together, since you are now looking at close to triple the designed HP spec from the factory. Stay away from the dragstrip- LOL.

Congtas, even though we never met but I have heard plenty about your car, those are some sick numbers.

Please install 6speed, pour in some vp import and let the torque numbers soar =]

I have no idea to be honest with you. I was just buying parts when I found good deals on them. I had almost a complete motor in my server room at work so my wife wouldnt find it:) I am sure it was less than any shop would have done it for. Doing your own research and buying your own parts can save you a lot of money. The problem is you have to do your homework....The cams are the only thing I regret in my build. If I had to do it over, I would have either gotten the more agressive BC cams or the GSC cams.

Can't speak for Eddie, but I'm in a similar situation and I know my build cost. Engine built similar to Eddie's at Ball engine, Ball racing turbo setup (though Eddie pieced his together for a little less) and tune (though I went AEM) and my cost is over $10k.

btw, GSC cams FTW. I'm making almost the same power on you on pump and everybody's contributing it to the cams. GSC 272/272, and I picked up about 20-30 more whp than anybody thought, and that's on the stock exhaust manifold.

and from what I've heard, stay away from BC cams...apparently their valve train is awesome, but their cams...not so much

P.S. I want a ride on racegas...or not, b/c then i'm going to have to drop the money as well

I would have been really close to the 500whp mark i bet if I had an AEM:) I was getting a lot of phantom knock from the stock ecu

    ^^^
    I challenge that

and that's why i went w/ AEM...tired of the bullshit stock ECU pulling timing at 400+whp

Agreed, jumping on deals when they come up and doing butt loads of research before buying is way to go. If I don't end up selling my WRX, i am gonna be in the same boot early next year. Ball engines seems to have done great job on both engines. @ keeping it in server room and hiding it from the wifey. I have been reading up both your's and Drews build and learned a good bit from both builds. Thanks for sharing.

What part of the build are you talking about? Just the motor? It would be really hard to put a number on the complete build since I kept adding to what I already had.

Instead of asking how much many have paid why don't you call the shops and get a quote ;)

Many times deals are given and such and those deals shouldn't be repeated.

Nah, my car is in Acworth right now:)

Mike lives in Sugar Hill though:)

Come out to the drag race this weekend in Commerce. I think Tom Patton is coming up as well. It will be like the good olde days except I will have a much faster car this time:)

6 Speed is broken in...just worried about the clutch not being broken in. Hell, the last time I raced up at commerce, I put a clutch in the night before and it held up fine:)

Well, I got the car back today and I will say the clutch is a dream. Will ahve to get use to the constant shifting of the 6-speed. Andy did a great job fixing the 6-speed and getting her in.

The Bad News - On my way home I get a call from my sister in-law and she was very frantic. She told me to pack up the family and start heading up to Nashville. My father in-law lost his battle with colon cancer today. So I am up in Nashville now and for the rest of the week with my family. This means I will not be racing this weekend. Sorry to all the people that has helped get my car to where it is at now. I was really anxious to get up to commerce again and race. I will be heading down to Reynolds on 05/02 instead.

Your family is way more important than something as trivial as a car. Spend the time with them and be there for the wife and kids.
