My official picture book! Let's get started... A few days ago, I purchased some new wheels from Josh (thanks Josh! *waves*) so that I could get rid of the hub converters, run a narrower stance, and protect my beautiful pearl WRC fenders from rubber. Also had a rare view: All three Subarus in the driveway at the same time (OB is the mother's). Unfortunately, one has a blown motor and the other a blown transmission. Let's guess which has which! :unamused: Here they are. New wheels on sedan... (Thanks Josh) New wheels on sedan... Sedan's engine... Coupe... New[ish] wheels... The whole family...
Very nice cars look awesome. Dang!!! I was thinking about getting those wheels from Josh but was afraid they would stick way the f out with the width size and offset. oh wait you have a widebody right? Looks killer on you car.
Sick. Matt made me fall in love with the GC8 last week and this isn't helping. I want one for a daily but I really need a truck. Did you shave the rear door handles or did the widebody cover over it?
 sometimes Aaron doesn't read, he just looks at all the pretty pictures. What would have been more funny is if he said bring them both out to a meet sometime.
I read that they were broken... It takes a day to swap a transmission. You could even put the good tranny on the good engine and have one fixed car.
RSConvert: Yep, it's a WRC replica widebody. 2pt5rs: It's still somewhat visible. *facepalm* CoolRex: The wider door panels cover the rear handles. Thanks for all the kind words!
Nice, I went to buy those wheels a few days ago when they just got sold. can you elaborate on that hub conversion? ie for sale or where you got it
I want to share with you guys a conversation that I had last night with some numb nuts on youtube. At first I thought this guy was trying to be funny but later on realized he was sincere. It began with him posting a comment on a couple of my videos on Youtube, [Click here], accusing me of copying his car. Strange coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe this guy is a nut job. Brodude: dude nice car, did seeing my car make you think it would be cool to build the exact same car? just wondering, how you got such a "cool" idea, could you not come up with a original idea? Me: Who the hell are you? Brodude: just a guy who did the exact same build about four years ago, and uses his car for a daily driver. just wondering where you saw my car at? Me: You're ridiculous. I don't even know who you are. Brodude: i did not say you know who i am, i said you saw my car and copied it. Me: No. Brodude: where did you see my car then? Me: Everywhere, ever. Brodude: get your own idea sometime would ya! Me: Where would I have seen your car? Brodude: well its been alot of places, bro. why not just paint it a different color or something? i mean did you have to do the same freakin thing, my car used to be one of one, and i see this..... whats up dude? Me: you want to know why I painted my car white? Brodude: no i know why, because you saw my car and thought it was sexy thats why. Me: Show me the car. Brodude: i will even though you allready saw it sometime and copied it! Me: Terrific. Post a link. It should be easy since "its [sic] been alot [sic] of places, bro." Me: No link? I didn't see that coming... Brodude: just wait. Me: I'll wait for it. This is me waiting. Brodude: look up 2.5rs widebody should be the third one down sorry about the bad quality. [Sure enough, numbnuts then uploads a crappy cell phone video of a walkaround of his car. It's a pearl white widebody RS-T with an STi rear spoiler, vortex generators, and black gas door. Overall, there are really few things in common between our cars. These are somewhat unique motification individually so I suppose it is strange that we both have them. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5QCuGYbooo Me: The things I see in common are the vortex generators. pearl white paint, STi rear spoiler, black gas door, and wide fenders. On July 29th, 2007, I posted a thread on NASIOC (search username: ScoobaruRS) titled GC6 Turbo: Crystal White Pearl [Widebody] showing my RS in a fresh coat of primer waiting for paint. Show me a single website with a photo or video time stamped prior to July 29th, 2007. Mind you, the body work took over a year to complete. Me: Actually, you're going to have to go back to July 4th, 2006. On that date, I posted a thread on NASIOC titled "RS-T: Future Garage Queen" showing my project in its early stages. This should be entertaining since you're so convinced I somehow copied your car that seems to have little to no online presence. Brodude: well thats great man, my car was tuned on the road by then, the guy that tuned it had a vid posted when he tuned it, but its been so long he took it off. and i have never posted any pics of it on any sites. so im just going to take this as a complement, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". im just wondering where you saw it thats all. your car is beautiful obviously im not dissing. what state are you in? Me: You have never posted any pics of it on any sites and somehow I still copied you? You're not making any sense. BTW: I live in Ellijay, GA. Have fun trying to explain how I've seen your car.
Additionally, why the hell would I copy numb nuts? Roger Clark's Gobstopper seems like a much more likely candidate for inspiration.
widebody with the stock front bumper? that dude is a wackjob. let me bounce off the rev limited to show it's real!
Some people just amaze me. Comeon....your car is unique for sure but really it's not a lot of parts that make it where someone else would not come up with or come close to the same thing. And you know what? Who gives a flip.....its your car. If you like it and if it was (not saying it is but saying 'if' it was) what does it matter? There is no patent on it where you can't copy a 'style'. Sheesh.....there are some true idiots in this world.
Pure secks. How often are you in marietta? My mom lives there/I went to Sprayberry and am there pretty frequently, but never seen an RS there...especially ones as secksy as those! Look great!
Spent the last week or so pulling the motor out of the coupe. Turns out the idler pulley failed and sent parts flying through the timing belt cover. Pulled the heads and miraculously, no valve to piston contact. So the motor gets a new gasket/seal kit, pulleys, belts, coil pack, plugs, plug wires, fuel lines, timing belt cover, paint job... oh... and a turbo. -Brett
The setup will be a bone stock EJ25 w/SOHC heads, TD04L Turbo (6-7psi), 750cc modded WRX injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Hydra EMS (PnP from other RS), WRX TMIC, Exedy lightweight flywheel, ACT HD clutch kit, Equal length headers, catless uppipe, WRX downpipe, and Cobb catback. The entire project costs next to nothing since I already had half the parts in my basement from when I did this same junkyard buildup in college.
^^^Holy sheet that looks like my engine colors...so do you want to repaint yours or should I repaint mine? JK ...looks awesome
How much did I give you yesterday, Wes? I have a reason to believe I did not give you as much as I thought I did.... :\
